• <br /> • <br /> 1 for-hire vehicles, each taxicab shall have available a separate operator. <br /> 2 Section 29: TAXICAB LICENSE TRANSFER. No license issued pursuant to <br /> 3 this title shall be transferable from one owner to another except in the case of a bona <br /> 4 fide sale of the business of the owner, and then only upon the filing of an application <br /> 5 with the City requesting such transfer, which transfer shall be approved by the City <br /> 6 Clerk. The fee for such transfer of taxicab license shall be the sum of fifteen dollars <br /> 7 ($15) and shall be paid by the applicant for the transfer at the time such an application <br /> 8 is filed. <br /> 9 Section 30: ADVERTISING. It shall be lawful for any person owning or <br /> 10 operating a vehicle for hire to permit advertising matter to be affixed to or installed on <br /> 11 such vehicles; provided, that advertising on the exterior of any vehicle for hire shall be <br /> 12 limited to a trunk reader board in dimension so as not to inhibit rear vision of the <br /> 13 driver. The Chief of Police or his designee may also require additional regulations <br /> 14 relating to advertising as he deems necessary to insure the safe operation of vehicles <br /> 15 for hire. <br /> 16 Section 31: VIOLATION - PENALTY. Any person, firm or corporation <br /> 17 violating this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be <br /> 18 deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during which any violation <br /> 19 of any of the provisions of this chapter is committed, continued, or permitted; and upon <br /> 20 conviction of any such violation, such person shall be subject to a fine of not more than <br /> 21 five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both such <br /> 22 fine and imprisonment. <br /> 23 In addition to the penalties provided herein, a for-hire vehicle business license as <br /> 24 provided for herein, may be revoked or suspended by the City Council if the holder <br /> 25 thereof has: <br /> 26 A. Violated any of the provisions of this chapter; <br /> 27 B. Discontinued operations for more than ten days; and <br /> 28 C. Violated any of the ordinances of the City of Everett or the laws of the <br /> 29 State of Washington, the violation of which reflect unfavorably on the fitness of the <br /> 30 holder to offer public transportation. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 -13- <br />
