Buildings or structures to which 12 additions, alterations, or repairs are made to electrical system, including any and all electrical wires, services, equipment and apparatus are made 13 shall comply with all the requirements for new work in buildings and structures as set forth in this ordinance except as specifically provided for 14 in this section. 15 (b) In the event of unsafe or hazardous wiring, Section 11 shall take precedence. 16 80-2 MAINTENANCE. All electrical wires, equipment and apparatus 17 shall be maintained in a safe condition. All devices and safeguards which are required by this code in a building, sign or structure when erected, 18 altered or repaired shall be maintained in a safe and good working order. The owner or his agent shall be responsible for the maintenance of all such 19 electrical wiring, equipment and apparatus. 20 80-3 MOVED BUILDINGS. All electrical wires, equipment, or apparatus within, or on, or attached thereto, which are moved within or 21 into the City shall comply with the provisions of this ordinance and all other applicable laws, codes and ordinances. 22 80-4 ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY & ASSISTANTS. The Building 23 Official is hereby authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of this ordinance. For such purpose he shall have the powers of a police 24 officer. In accordance with procedure and with the approval of the chief appointing authority of the City, the Building Official may appoint such 25 number of officers, inspectors, and assistants and other employees as may be necessary to carry out the functions of this ordinance. 26 80-5 REPORTS AND RECORDS. The Building Official shall submit a 27 report to the proper City official not less than once a year, covering the work of the department during the preceding period. He shall incorporate 28 in said report a summary of his recommendations as to desirable amendments to this Code. 29 The Building Official shall keep a permanent, accurate account of all fees 30 and other monies collected and received under this Code, the names of the persons upon whose account the same were paid, the date and amount 31 32 -17-
