• • <br /> 1 ABS and PVC installations limited to residential construction not more <br /> than two stories in height. <br /> 2 <br /> 3 and inserting in its place: <br /> 4 <br /> ABS and PVC piping installations shall be limited to those structures <br /> 5 where combustible construction is allowed under the 1979 Edition of the <br /> Uniform Building Code. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Section 35: Chapters 11 and 13 of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby <br /> 8 deleted in its entirety. <br /> 9 Section 36: The National Electrical Code is hereby amended by adding a new <br /> 10 Article 80 - Administrative. <br /> 11 <br /> 80-1 EXISTING BUILDINGS. Buildings or structures to which <br /> 12 additions, alterations, or repairs are made to electrical system, including <br /> any and all electrical wires, services, equipment and apparatus are made <br /> 13 shall comply with all the requirements for new work in buildings and <br /> structures as set forth in this ordinance except as specifically provided for <br /> 14 in this section. <br /> 15 (b) In the event of unsafe or hazardous wiring, Section 11 shall take <br /> precedence. <br /> 16 <br /> 80-2 MAINTENANCE. All electrical wires, equipment and apparatus <br /> 17 shall be maintained in a safe condition. All devices and safeguards which <br /> are required by this code in a building, sign or structure when erected, <br /> 18 altered or repaired shall be maintained in a safe and good working order. <br /> The owner or his agent shall be responsible for the maintenance of all such <br /> 19 electrical wiring, equipment and apparatus. <br /> 20 80-3 MOVED BUILDINGS. All electrical wires, equipment, or <br /> apparatus within, or on, or attached thereto, which are moved within or <br /> 21 into the City shall comply with the provisions of this ordinance and all <br /> other applicable laws, codes and ordinances. <br /> 22 <br /> 80-4 ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY & ASSISTANTS. The Building <br /> 23 Official is hereby authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of <br /> this ordinance. For such purpose he shall have the powers of a police <br /> 24 officer. In accordance with procedure and with the approval of the chief <br /> appointing authority of the City, the Building Official may appoint such <br /> 25 number of officers, inspectors, and assistants and other employees as may <br /> be necessary to carry out the functions of this ordinance. <br /> 26 <br /> 80-5 REPORTS AND RECORDS. The Building Official shall submit a <br /> 27 report to the proper City official not less than once a year, covering the <br /> work of the department during the preceding period. He shall incorporate <br /> 28 in said report a summary of his recommendations as to desirable <br /> amendments to this Code. <br /> 29 The Building Official shall keep a permanent, accurate account of all fees <br /> 30 and other monies collected and received under this Code, the names of the <br /> persons upon whose account the same were paid, the date and amount <br /> 31 <br /> 32 -17- <br />
