1 thereof, together with the location of the building or premises to which they relate. 2 80-6 RIGHT OF ENTRY. Whenever necessary to make an inspection to 3 enforce any provision of this ordinance, the Building Official or his authorized representative may enter any building or premises as 4 prescribed in Ordinance No. 315-74. 5 80-7 STOP ORDERS. Whenever any work is being done contrary to the provisions of this ordinance, the Building Official may order the work 6 stopped by notice in writing served on any persons engaged in the doing or causing such work to be done and any such persons forthwith stop such 7 work until authorized by the Building Official to proceed with the work. 8 80-8 LIABILITY. The Building Official or any employee charged with the enforcement of this ordinance, acting in good faith and without malice 9 for the City in the discharge of his duties, shall not thereby render himself liable personally and he is hereby relieved from all personal liability for 10 any damage that may accrue to persons or property as a result of any act required or by reason of any act or omission in the discharge of his duties. 11 Any suit brought against the Building Official or employee, because of such act or omission performed by him in the enforcement of any 12 provisions of this Code, shall be defended by the legal department of the City until final termination of the proceedings. This ordinance is one of 13 general application and nothing herein is intended to create liability or cause action running in favor of individual members of the public. 14 80-9 UNSAFE CONDITIONS. All electrical wires, equipment and 15 apparatus which are unsafe or not provided with adequate safeguards, of which constitute a fire hazard, or are otherwise dangerous to human life, 16 or which in relation to existing use constitute a hazard to safety or health, or public welfare, by reason of inadequate maintenance, obsolescense, fire 17 hazard, disaster damage, or abandonment, as specified in this ordinance or any other effective ordinance, are, for the purpose of this section, 18 considered unsafe conditions. All such unsafe conditions are hereby declared to be public nuisances and the owner or his agent must abate by 19 repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal in accordance with this ordinance or by any other procedures provided by law. 20 80-10 BOARD OF APPEALS. In order to determine the suitability of 21 alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide for reasonable interpretation of the provisions of this Code, there shall be and 22 is hereby a Board of Appeals, as created by Ordinance No. 351-75, to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. 23 80-11 VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES. It shall be unlawful for any 24 person, firm, or corporation to install, alter, or extend any electrical equipment in the City, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in 25 violation of any of the provisions of this Code. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed 26 guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which 27 any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation such person shall 28 be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. 29 80-12 PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS. 30 (a) Permits required.
