• <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> 1 CHAPTER III. REGISTRATION AND LICENSING OF CATS AND DOGS <br /> 2 Section 1. Coverage <br /> 3 The provisions of this Chapter shall apply to all cats and dogs not owned, <br /> housed, kept or maintained within a facility subject to licensure pursuant to <br /> 4 Chapter IV of this ordinance. <br /> 5 Section 2. Requirements <br /> 6 A. All adult dogs, harbored, kept or maintained within the City shall be <br /> licensed and registered annually, or within thirty (30) days of <br /> 7 acquisition by the owner, whichever occurs later. Licenses shall be <br /> issued upon payment of the fees required by Chapter VIII of this <br /> 8 ordinance and upon proof of a current rabies vaccination from a <br /> licensed veterinarian. <br /> 9. <br /> B. Adult cats may be licensed for identification purposes by payment of <br /> 10 the fee provided in Chapter VIII of this ordinance. <br /> -11 C. Licenses <br /> 12 1. License tags shall be securely displayed upon animals at all <br /> times, except when the animal is displayed in any official <br /> 13 exhibition or is working in the field as a hunting animal. <br /> 14 2. Licenses are not transferable to another animal. License <br /> information may be transferred to a new owner upon payment <br /> 15 of a registration fee as set forth in Chapter VIII. <br /> 16 3. All licenses provided in this Chapter shall expire on December <br /> thirty-first of each year. The fee for all licenses issued after <br /> 17 July first of each year may be reduced by one-half (upon <br /> evidence that said animals to be licensed were not subject to <br /> 18 the licensing provisions of this Chapter prior to July first). <br /> 19 4. Owners of animals displaying current licensing from <br /> jurisdictions outside the City of Everett shall purchase a new <br /> 20 license for the license replacement fee listed in Chapter VIII <br /> provided any animal remains in possession of the owner to <br /> 21 whom such license was duly issued. <br /> 22 D. Exceptions from Licensing and Waiver of Fees <br /> 23 License fees for animals owned by persons aged 62 or older and <br /> for owners of guide dogs shall be as specified in Chapter VIII of <br /> 24 this ordinance. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 CHAPTER IV. FACILITIES: LICENSING, REGULATION AND <br /> STANDARDS <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Section 1. Coverage <br /> Facilities housing at any time more than two adult dogs or cats, or a <br /> 29 combination of both, in excess of three animals, or when the keeping of such <br /> animals produces more than one litter each year from all such animals <br /> 30 housed, or an animal kennel or cattery, hobby kennel, or commercial kennel <br /> or cattery, or the keeping of any livestock or exotic, wild or dangerous <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
