• <br /> • <br /> 1 private detective or any other person or persons to act as such within the limits of the <br /> 2 City, who has not first made application and obtained a license as provided in this <br /> 3 ordinance (chapter) to carry on such business or occupation. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Section 4: LICENSE REQUIREMENTS. <br /> 6 In addition to the general requirements, there is the additional requirement that <br /> 7 all applicant(s) shall be at least eighteen (18) years of age and shall not have been <br /> 8 convicted of a felony or convicted of or forfeited bail to a misdemeanor within ten (10) <br /> 9 years preceding the date of application which is directly related to the ability and <br /> 10 fitness of the applicant to engage in the business or occupation for which the license is <br /> 11 required. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Section 5: OPERATING REGULATIONS. <br /> 14 Any person, corporation, association, partnership or any other organization shall <br /> 15 comply with the following regulations while working as a merchant patrolman (security <br /> 16 guard) or while operating a merchant patrol agency or business: <br /> 17 A. UNIFORM. If a merchant patrolman (security guard) wears a uniform <br /> 18 while in the capacity of merchant patrolman (security guard), then such uniform shall <br /> 19 not resemble the uniform of the police or sheriff of any jurisdiction in Snohomish, King <br /> 20 or Skagit counties, or the Washington State Patrol in either color or markings. All <br /> 21 uniforms shall be approved by the Chief of Police or his designee prior to exhibition in <br /> 22 actual employment. <br /> 23 B. BADGE. If a badge is to be used in employment as a merchant <br /> 24 patrolman (security guard), it shall not resemble the badges from the City of Everett <br /> 25 Police, the Snhomish County Sheriff nor the Washington State Patrol. The badges shall <br /> 26 be different from those of the local law enforcement agencies in both size and shape. <br /> 27 Such merchant patrolman (security guard) badges shall be subject to the approval of the <br /> 28 Chief of Police or his designee prior to exhibition in actual employment. <br /> 29 C. VEHICLES. Any vehicles used in the pursuit of employment as a <br /> 30 merchant patrolman (security guard) shall not be similar in coloration or marking to <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> -3- <br />
