• • 1 Section 6: LICENSE FEES. 2 A. The license fees for merchant patrolman (security guard), private 3 detectives, merchant patrol agencies and detective agencies are fixed in the amounts 4 shown in the following schedule and shall be paid in advance: 5 Merchant patrolman/security guard $ 30.00 per year 6 Private detective $ 75.00 per year Merchant patrol agency $150.00 per year 7 Private detective agency $200.00 per year 8 If a license application is denied, then the City shall retain twenty-five ($25) 9 dollars of the license fee to apply towards the cost of investigation. 10 B. Once a merchant patrolman (security guard), private detective, merchant 11 patrol agency or private detective agency has received a license and has paid the fee 12 set out above for the license, then, for any subsequent years, the following fee schedule 13 shall apply unless the licensee has allowed the license to lapse for a period of one year 14 or more without a renewal or has had the license revoked or suspended in which case, 15 the fee schedule set out in Subsection A shall apply: 16 17 Merchant patrolman/security guard $ 15.00 per year Private detective $ 50.00 per year 18 Merchant patrol agency $100.00 per year Private detective agency $150.00 per year 19 20 C. Employees engaged in both merchant patrol (security guard) activities and 21 private detective activities shall be licensed as private detectives. Agencies engaged in 22 both merchant patrol (security guard) activities and private detective activities shall be 23 licensed as private detective agencies. 24 D. In the event a merchant patrolman (security guard) has secured a valid 25 Snohomish County merchant patrolman's (security guard) license prior to the time he 26 applies for a license with the City, then the fee charged for a merchant patrolman's 27 (security guard) license shall be fifteen dollars ($15) per year. The applicant shall 28 comply with all other licensing requirements as set forth herein. 29 30 31 32 -5-
