If said coverage shall expire or <br /> 2 in any way be cancelled or discontinued, then the policy holder shall be required to give <br /> 3 the City at least ten (10) days notice thereof. <br /> 4 C. Such insurance policy or policies must insure against negligent as well as <br /> 5 intentional acts; specifically covering false arrest, assault, libel and slander in addition <br /> 6 to general tort liability. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Section 9: PROCESSING OF APPLICANTS. <br /> 9 The City shall process an application within fifteen (15) working days from the <br /> 10 date of submission of the application unless the applicant is notified otherwise. If the <br /> 11 City is unable to process the application within the fifteen (15) day period of time, then <br /> 12 the City may grant the applicant a conditional license or extend the period of time. If <br /> 13 the City grants a conditional license, then such license shall be temporary. Once the <br /> 14 City reaches a determination as to whether the applicant qualifies for a license, then at <br /> 15 that time, the holder of the conditional license shall be notified. If the applicant does <br /> 16 not qualify for a license, the applicant shall be so notified and shall return his <br /> 17 conditional license to the City and cease all activities which said applicant would have <br /> 18 been eligible for under the license. This provision shall be controlling over the general <br /> 19 licensing provisions. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Section 10: EXEMPTION. <br /> 22 Nothing in this chapter shall apply to any officer or employee of any state, <br /> 23 county, city or town appointed or elected by due authority of law while he is acting in <br /> 24 his official capacity; to any person, firm or corporation whose sole business is the <br /> 25 furnishing of information as to the business and financial standing and credit of persons, <br /> 26 firms or corporations; nor to any person, firm or corporation whose sole business is <br /> 27 inquiring into the personal habits and financial responsibilities of applicants for <br /> 28 insurance, indemnity bonds or commercial credit or of claimants under insurance <br /> 29 policies; nor to persons who work for a single employer and almost entirely on the <br /> 30 private property of that employer; nor to special police officers duly appointed and <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> -7- <br />
