• <br /> • > •. <br /> 1 Section 12: Emergency Aid System. <br /> 2 A. There shall be an emergency aid system for emergency medical response <br /> 3 to provide the least time response for patient emergency aid and transportation, which <br /> 4 shall consist of the following: <br /> 5 1. The 911 telephone access system. <br /> 6 2. Immediate notification of all requests for emergency <br /> 7 medical aid received by the Fire Department to the ambulance company <br /> 8 and by the ambulance company to the Fire Department. <br /> 9 3. Ambulance Company shall respond to 911 calls by dispatcher <br /> 10 order, based on certain criteria previously established or by request of <br /> 11 Fire Department or Police Department. No automatic response except as <br /> 12 noted herein. Other responses by ambulance company will only be through <br /> 13 direct citizen request. <br /> 14 4. Immediate notification by the first arriving unit whether or <br /> 15 not the additional units responding are required. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Section 13: Emergency Medical Response. <br /> 18 The Fire Department of the City of Everett should respond to requests for <br /> 19 medical aid within the City, and provide such service to persons within the City as <br /> 20 required; provided, however, requests for ambulance service shall be relayed to the <br /> 21 ambulance company, the Fire Department shall not respond unless further information <br /> 22 indicates need of other emergency service. <br /> 23 A. To accomplish the intent of this section, the Mayor shall annually prepare <br /> 24 a budget for emergency medical aid response. <br /> 25 B. The Mayor shall develop a plan that may include recommendation of the <br /> 26 Emergency Services Advisory Committee, to provide for an emergency medical aid <br /> 27 response program by: <br /> 28 1. Planning and budgeting for two Emergency Aid Cars (EAC) <br /> 29 to be strategically located within the City and to be equipped as required <br /> 30 by this ordinance. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 -10- <br />
