S <br /> • <br /> • i <br /> 1 Police. Changes of business hours will be sent to the City Clerk and Chief of Police ten <br /> 2 days before their effective date. <br /> 3 H. The tow operator shall have a secure storage area for the vehicles stored <br /> 4 by the operator at the request of the Police Department. Such storage area shall <br /> 5 comply with Department of Licensing requirements for registered disposers (WAC 308- <br /> 6 61-110). Repeated losses or thefts of property from stored vehicles may result in <br /> 7 denial, suspension, or revocation of a tow operator's letter of appointment. <br /> 8 I. Tow operators will notify the Police Department of the release of stored <br /> 9 vehicles within 24 hours after the release of such vehicle. Notification to the Police <br /> 10 Department will be made in such a manner prescribed by the Chief of Police. <br /> 11 J. Tow operators will post current towing service rates in a conspicuous <br /> 12 place at the company's place of business. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 If the City Clerk and/or Police Department receives written complaints from <br /> 15 towing customers alleging "price gouging,' "over-charging," charging for services not <br /> 16 received, and other such pricing abuses and/or any improprieties, such allegations shall <br /> 17 be investigated by the Police Department. Substantiation of such complaints may result <br /> 18 in the Chief of Police denying, suspending or revoking the letter of appointment of the <br /> 19 "Class A" licensee to the list authorizing participation in police requested towing <br /> 20 services. <br /> 21 Records kept on Everett Police impounds, including all services rendered at the <br /> 22 request of the Everett Police, shall be available for inspection by the Police <br /> 23 Department during normal business hours. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 3. Abandoned Vehicles - Surety Bond. In accordance with RCW Chapter <br /> 26 46.52, relating to the disposing of abandoned vehicles, a "Class A" licensee shall <br /> 27 maintain a three thousand dollar ($3,000) surety bond and shall register with the <br /> 28 Department of Motor Vehicles of the State as provided in RCW 46.52.108. Any such <br /> 29 tow operator shall notify the City Clerk of any lapse of said surety bond, which lapse <br /> 30 shall be grounds for disqualification from authorization to do police impounds. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Page -10- <br />
