1 that the operation of any tow truck is ancillary to the operation of any other business <br /> 2 shall not exempt such operation from the licensing requirements of this chapter. The <br /> 3 license herein required is in addition to a general business license required by the <br /> 4 Everett Municipal Code and the regulations established herein are supplemental to the <br /> 5 general licensing requirements of the Everett Municipal Code. Failure to comply with <br /> 6 any of the mandatory provisions of this ordinance shall be a Class B offense as defined <br /> 7 in Chapter 10 of the Everett Municipal Code. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Section 3: APPLICATION FOR LICENSE - INVESTIGATION. <br /> 10 Application for a towing business license must be made in writing on an <br /> 11 application form furnished by the City and must be filed with the City Clerk, <br /> 12 accompanied by a non-refundable application and investigation fee in the amount of <br /> 13 $15. The investigation fee will only be imposed on nevi--a :or those applicants <br /> 14 who fail to renew their license. The application shall include full information <br /> 15 concerning the ownership of the business, the number and type of vehicles to be <br /> 16 operated, the name under which the applicant intends to operate, the legal form of the <br /> 17 business entity operating the business, the office address of the towing business, the <br /> 18 address of any storage facilities, the name and address of the person in charge of the <br /> 19 business plus any additional information reasonably required by the City Clerk and/or <br /> 20 Chief of Police. <br /> 21 The application shall be referred to the licensing official designated by the City <br /> 22 Clerk who shall determine whether all requirements have been met and information <br /> 23 furnished as required by the provisions of this ordinance. The licensing official may call <br /> 24 upon the Chief of Police to conduct an investigation to obtain pertinent information <br /> 25 relating to the license application. <br /> 26 All equipment to be used in the towing business shall be available for inspection <br /> 27 by the Everett Police Department during reasonable business hours. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Section 4: PROOF OF INSURANCE. <br /> 30 A certificate of insurance must be filed with the City Clerk at the time the <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Page -2- <br />
