1 Section 15: TOWING BUSINESS AUTHORIZED TO DO POLICE IMPOUNDS - <br /> ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND PROVISIONS. <br /> 2 <br /> 1. In order to qualify for a "Class A" license, a towing business licensee must <br /> 3 <br /> comply with or satisfy the following additional requirements: <br /> 4 <br /> A. Tow trucks used in response to requests from the Everett Police <br /> 5 <br /> Department shall have a minimum manufacturer's gross vehicle weight of 10,000 <br /> 6 <br /> pounds. Such vehicles shall also be equipped with dual tires on the rear axle, or duplex <br /> 7 <br /> type tires, sometimes referred to as super single, with a load rating that is comparable <br /> 8 <br /> to the dual tire rating. A "Class A" towing business must have at least two (2) such tow <br /> 9 <br /> trucks. <br /> 10 <br /> B. Each tow truck shall also be equipped as follows: <br /> 11 <br /> 1. With all legal light requirements for trucks and/or tow <br /> 12 <br /> trucks and tow vehicles; <br /> 13 <br /> 2. With all legal equipment and licensing requirements for <br /> 14 <br /> trucks and/or tow trucks and the operation thereof; <br /> 15 3. With dual booms having a minimum manufacturer's basic <br /> 16 <br /> rating of six (6) tons, except, a single boom, with dual cables, with a <br /> 17 <br /> minimum manufacturer's basic rating of six (6) tons will also be <br /> 18 acceptable; <br /> 19 4. With one hundred (100) feet of 3/8 inch continuous length <br /> 20 cable in working condition on each drum; <br /> 21 5. With a revolving or pulsating red light with 360 degree <br /> 22 visibility. Such red light will not be used when responding to a call, but <br /> 23 only at the scene when necessary to warn approaching traffic of <br /> 24 impending danger; <br /> 25 6. With a broom and shovel; <br /> 26 7. With a sling or other comparable device made of material <br /> 27 designed to protect vehicles/motorcycles while being towed; <br /> 28 8. With at least one portable fire extinguisher having at least a <br /> 29 20-BC rating or when more than one is provided, each extinguisher shall <br /> 30 have at least a 10-BC rating.
