The National Electrical Code, 1978 Edition, published by the <br /> 2 National Fire Protection Association; The Department of Labor and Industries, Rules <br /> 3 and Regulations for installing electrical wires and equipment and Administrative Rules, <br /> 4 March 6, 1978; The Department of Labor and Industries Electrical Installation Law, <br /> 5 September 4, 1975; The Department of Labor and Industries Rules for Electrical <br /> 6 Construction, revised September 1965; The Department of Labor and Industries Rules <br /> 7 and Regulations for mobile homes, commercial coaches and recreational vehicles, <br /> 8 revised January 1, 1972; and The Department of Labor and Industries Electrical <br /> 9 Construction Code, December 1, 1964, are hereby adopted by reference. <br /> 10 Section 5. This ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Building Code." It <br /> 11 will hereinafter be referred to as "this code." <br /> 12 Section 6. RCW 19.27.060, Section 4, as it pertains to the City of Everett is <br /> 13 not adopted by reference and is expressly deleted. <br /> 14 Section 7. Creation of the Building Department. There is hereby established, <br /> 15 in the City of Everett, the Building Department, which shall be under the jurisdiction of <br /> 16 the Building Official, designated by the Mayor. The Building Official shall have the <br /> 17 powers and duties as herein set forth and as set forth in the Model Codes herein adopted <br /> 18 by reference. <br /> 19 Section 8. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or <br /> 20 circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the <br /> 21 provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected. <br /> 22 Section 9. Three copies of this ordinance shall be filed and maintained by the <br /> • <br /> 23 City Clerk for use and examination by the public. <br /> 24 Section 10. That Section 202 (d) of the Uniform Building Code be, and is hereby <br /> 25 amended by deleting: <br /> 26 Whenever necessary to make an inspection to enforce any of the <br /> provisions of this Code, or whenever the Building Official or his <br /> 27 authorized representative has reasonable cause to believe that there <br /> exists in any building or upon any premises, any condition which makes <br /> 28: such building or premises unsafe as defined in Section 203 of this Code, <br /> the Building Official or his authorized representative may enter such <br /> 29 building or premises at all reasonable times to inspect the same or to <br /> perform any duty imposed upon the Building Official by this Code; <br /> 30 provided that if such building or premises be occupied, he shall first <br /> present proper credentials and demand entry: and if such building or <br /> 31 premises be unoccupied, he shall first make a reasonable effort to locate <br /> 32 <br /> - 2 - <br />
