a ' <br /> 1 a separate construction permit for each such building or structure from <br /> the Building Official, except that one permit may be issued for two or <br /> 2 more buildings that are all located on one described parcel of land: <br /> separate job record cards shall be issued for each building. <br /> 3 <br /> Section 13. That Section 302 (d) of the Uniform Building Code be, and is hereby <br /> 4 <br /> amended by deleting: <br /> 5 <br /> SEC. 302 (d) EXPIRATION. Every permit issued by the Building Official <br /> 6 under the provisions of this Code shall expire by limitation and become <br /> null and void, if the building or work authorized by such permit is not <br /> 7 commenced within 120 days from the date of such permit, or if the <br /> building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at <br /> 8 any time after the work is commenced for a period of 120 days. Before <br /> such work can be recommenced a new permit shall be first obtained and <br /> 9 the fee therefore shall be one-half the amount required for a new permit <br /> for such work, provided no changes have been made or will be made in the <br /> 10 original plans and specifications for such work; and provided, further, that <br /> such suspension or abandoment has not exceeded one year. <br /> 11 <br /> and inserting in its place: <br /> 12 <br /> SEC. 302 (d) EXPIRATION. Permits and renewed permits shall expire one <br /> 13 (1) year from date of issue except as otherwise specified. Where <br /> conditions require, the Building Official may, as he deems necessary, issue <br /> 14 non-renewable permits which shall expire within a period less than one (1) <br /> year from date of issue. Permits may be renewed and renewed permits <br /> 15 may be further renewed by the Building Official upon application within <br /> the thirty (30) day period immediately preceding the date of expiration <br /> 16 thereof, provided that the work permitted has been started and is <br /> progressing at a rate approved by the Building Official. Permits may also <br /> 17 be renewed where commencement or completion of the work is delayed by <br /> litigation, appeals, strikes or other causes beyond the permittee's control. <br /> 18 Progress justifying renewal of a permit where the work has been started, <br /> shall include but not be limited to the arranging of financing, preparation <br /> 19 of environmental assessments, preparation of plans and specifications, <br /> selection of contractors and subcontractors, securing other necessary <br /> 20 permits and licenses, site preparation such as demolition, clearing and <br /> excavation, soils investigation, and work done to overcome unusual <br /> 21 construction difficulties. <br /> 22 Section 14. That Section 303(a) of the Uniform Building Code be, and is hereby <br /> 23 amended by deleting: <br /> 24 SEC. 303(a) a. PERMIT FEES. A fee for each building permit shall be <br /> paid to the Building Official as set forth in Table No. 3-A. <br /> 25 <br /> The determination of value or valuation under any of the provisions of this <br /> 26 Code shall be made by the Building Official. The valuation to be used in <br /> computing the permit and plan-check fees shall be the total value of all <br /> 27 construction work for which the permit is issued, as well as all finish <br /> work, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, <br /> 28 elevators, fire-extinguishing systems and any other permanent work or <br /> permanent equipment. <br /> 29 <br /> Where work for which a permit is required by this Code is started or <br /> 30 proceeded with prior to obtaining said permit, the fees specified in Table <br /> No. 3-A shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fee shall not <br /> 31 relieve any persons from fully complying with the requirements of this <br /> Code in the execution of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed <br /> 32 herein. <br /> - 4 - <br />
