•• r : • w• , <br /> 4 • • <br /> 1 The issuance of a permit based upon plans and specifications <br /> shall not prevent the Building Official from thereafter <br /> 2 requiring the correction of errors in said plans and specifica- <br /> tions or from preventing work being carried on thereunder <br /> 3 when in violation of this Ordinance or of any other ordinance <br /> of the City. <br /> 4 <br /> (g) Ex iration: Permits and renewed permits shall expire one <br /> 5 (1 year from date of issue except as otherwise specified. <br /> Where conditions require, the Building Official may, as he <br /> 6 deems necessary, issue non-renewable permits which shall <br /> expire within a period less than one (1) year from date or <br /> 7 issue. Permits may be renewed and renewed permits may be <br /> further renewed by the Building Official upon application <br /> 8 within the thirty (30) day period immediately preceding the <br /> date of expiration thereof, provided that the work permitted <br /> 9 has been started and is progressing at a rate approved by the <br /> Building Official. Permits may also be renewed where <br /> 10 commencement or completion of the work is delayed by <br /> litigation, appeals, strikes or other causes beyond the <br /> 11 permittee's control. Progress justifying renewal of a permit <br /> where the work has been started, shall include but not be <br /> 12 limited to the arranging of financing, preparation of <br /> environmental assessments, preparation of plans and specifi- <br /> 13 cation, selection of contractors and subcontractors, securing <br /> other necessary permits and licenses, site preparation such <br /> 14 as demolition, clearing and excavation, soils investigation, <br /> and work done to overcome unusual construction difficulties. <br /> 15 <br /> (h) Suspension or Revocation: The Building Official may, in <br /> 16 writing, suspend or revoke a permit issued under provisions <br /> of this ordinance whenever the permit is issued in error or <br /> 17 on the basis of incorrect information supplied, or in violation <br /> of any ordinance or regulation or any of the provisions of <br /> 18 this Ordinance. <br /> 19 (j) Inspections: <br /> 20 (1) All construction, work, and equipment for which a <br /> permit is required by this Ordinance shall be subject <br /> 21 to inspections by the Building Official to insure <br /> compliance with this ordinance. <br /> 22 <br /> (2) That portion of any construction, work, and equip- <br /> 23 ment intended to be concealed shall not be concealed <br /> until inspected and approved. <br /> 24 <br /> (3) Neither the City nor the Building Official nor his duly <br /> 25 appointed assistant shall be liable for any expense <br /> entailed in the removal or replacement of any <br /> 26 material required to allow an inspection. <br /> 27 (4) The Building Official may require that every request <br /> for inspection be filed at least one day before such <br /> 28 inspection is desired. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> - 40 - <br />
