a. A new guard if the landing is over 30 inches high to grade, per
IBC section 1013. This plan detail indicates five risers on the
existing stair, which would require a guard.
b. Flandrail details per IBC sections 1012.2, 1012.3 and 1012.6.
c. The dimension to the start of the ramp from side of the landing.
d. The clear dimension of the door strike to the start of the ramp
(24 inches rninimum), per ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003 figure
404.2.3.1 (f).
e. The landing depth requirement for door 131A is 54 inches if a
door closer is provided, per ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003 figure
404.2.3.1 (f), and should be shown on the drewings.
2. The landing and stairs exiting from the data center should be shown
on the drawings to coordinate with the scope of work in permit 81107-
012. The following coordination issues are noted:
a. Permit 61107-012 indicates a ramp on the south side of the
data center. It also indicates a doors and landings at the top of
the ramp and bottom of the ramp. Both doors (at the top and
bottom of the ramp) cannot have landings on either side of the
door and the raised floor that are at the same elevation, per IBC
section 1008.1.5.
b. The depth of the stair and landing on the north side of the data
center on this permit submittal is almost 3 feet short of the
dimension shown on the permit 61107-012.
c. The tread depth for the stair east of door 181A should be shcwn
on the drawings as minimum 11 inches, per IBC section
1009.4.2.
d. Two feet minimum should be shown on the drawings between
the door strike and the landing edge at door 181A, per
ICC/ANSI Ai17.1-2003 figure 404.2.3.1 (f).
e. The walls and doors of the data center are shown as new on this
permit, but they were included in permit B1107-012. To be
consistent with the note on the drawings for the data center:
"No work this area, work done on a separate permit", please
issue a sketch to clarify the revisions required to permit B1107-
012 and show these revisions as existing on permit B1107-02Z.
After review, we will issue this sketch to the field for inspections
forB1107-012.
3. Panic hardware should be shown the door schedule in all rooms of
assembly occupancy, and all doors exiting from those areas to the exit
access, exit and exit discharge, per IBC sections 1008.1.10.
4. Exit signs should be shown on the drawings, per IBC section 1011.1.
5. Emergency lighting should be shown on the drawings, per IBC section
1006.1.
75
