Dave Brandvold
7600 Evergreen Way
Everett, WA 98203
Reference: Reroofing of the Brandvold Building
7600 Evergreen Way
Everett, Washington
Dear Mr. Brandvold:
9EATTLE 1^0913396N0
EVERETT 1^OE1239OBt'l
In response to your request we inspected the above noted roof on
Tuesday, October 27, 1981.
The purpose of this inspection was to coni-irm the types and mate-
rials of the built up roofing membrane, note blisters, and determine
compliance of the roof materials for Class A or Class e fire resist-
ance criteria.
Inspection of the roof found ponded water, a plugged rooE drain, and
numerous blisters in both the new and old membranes. We also noted
that the recently applied membrane does not extend under the sheet
metal flashing at the parapet.
A rooE samole was cut and repaired by maintenance personnel orovided
by htr. Brandvold.
The roof sample consists oE three membranc sections which consist of
two (2) plies of fiberglass felts, with a cap sheet, over mineral
fiber insulation. The next group oF plies consist of a kraft paper
vapor barrier, three plies of fiberglass felts, with a glaze coat-
ing. This last layer of roofing felts were covered by what we
understand to be ATCO 1818 with a polyester sheet embedded in it and
covered by ATCO 1818.
z
0

c
m
.. .,
-a -n
.,
N S
m
v
c o
m o

O 3
m
_ -I
m
o z
c
n
rx
.. ..
- n

T
on
3
-t m
x
m
N
O
o r
c m
c n
3 N
m
z ;
rn
a

x
n
z
--I
x
..
N
z
0
c
m
