r-
Discount Tire, Co. - TIA Page S
February 19, 1993
north/south and east/west commutinq arteriais. Based upon tota.l
volumes during this time, distribution to and from the existing
sita would bo expected to follow these volume tendencies.
Therefore, Por patrons arrivinq at tha facility the directionzl
split is 75-percent from the south and 25-percent lrom the no!th
and the departing splita are 50-percent to the north and 50-
percent to the south. Please refer to Figure 3, in che Apperidix.
 xti ; - : . r
Based upon the trip distribution and assignment, as descriUed
above, which is consistent with that provided in a previous study
parformed by DOWL Engineers for the Xmart facility direct:ly
across the street, a simpliPied gravity model distribution was
perlormed to det3rmine the extent of the project traffica to the
threehold o! ten trips as required by the City o! Everett. The
distribution o! the 33 PM peak hour trips which this prupoaed
action will qenerata is shown in Fiqure 4 and the percentages are
shown in Fiqure 5. The table below provides thia inEor.zaation in
tabular form and provides the number o! 1993 trips and tha
percent of total traflic enterig tlhesa intersections,
Tabl• Z- Trip Ditributioa aad Sffaat at Idntilid
Tot (vph) Total Intrection Volume/ Gen (vph) Projct Osnratma Peax
Hour Volum Sntrinq the Idntifird Interenction.
As can be seen from the above table khe proposad action, and the
disribution o! the PM peak hour trips does not represant any
more tlian 0.41 percnnt ot the total volume anterinq any one
intersection within tha overall project area. The two
intersections which represent the largest dietribution are the
two nearest signalized intersections, which are actually adjacent
to tha projact sita. Tha most recognizable intersaction with
this percent sddition is the 79th Place SE and Everqreen Way
intersaction which was analyzad earlier and also thn SR 526
Westbound Ramps and Evergraen Way intersection. Thia latter
intersection also is tha intersaction with the second largest
