I
I1 changes to the Engineer for review and approval 10 days prior to the beginning
2 of work.
3
I
4 The Contractor shall provide the Contracting Agency copies of any calculations and
5 staking data when requested by the Engineer.
6
I 7 To facilitate the establishment of these lines and elevations, the Contracting Agency will
8 provide the Contractor with primary survey control information consisting of descriptions
9 of two primary control points used for the horizontal and vertical control, and descriptions
10 of two additional primary control points for every additional three miles of project length.
11 Primary control points will be described by reference to the project alignment and the
12 coordinate system and elevation datum utilized by the project. in addition, the
I13
14 Contracting Agency will supply horizontal coordinates for the beginning and ending points
and for each Point of Intersection (PI) on each alignment included in the project.
15
I 16 The Contractor shall ensure a surveying accuracy within the following tolerances:
17
18 Vertical Horizontal
19 Slope stakes ±0.10 feet ±0.10 feet
I20 Subgrade grade stakes set
21 0.04 feet below grade ±0.01 feet ±0.5 feet
22 (parallel to alignment)
I
23 ±0.1 feet
24 (normal to alignment)
25
I
26 Stationing on roadway N/A ±0.1 feet
27 Alignment on roadway N/A ±0.04 feet
28 Surfacing grade stakes ±0.01 feet ±0.5 feet
I
29 (parallel to alignment)
30 ±0.1 feet
31 (normal to alignment)
I 32
33 Roadway paving pins for
34 surfacing or paving ±0.01 feet ±0.2 feet
I 35 (parallel to alignment)
36 ±0.1 feet
37 (normal to alignment)
I 38
39 The Contracting Agency may spot-check the Contractor's surveying. These spot-checks
40 will not change the requirements for normal checking by the Contractor.
I 41
42 When staking roadway alignment and stationing, the Contractor shall perform
43 independent checks from different secondary control to ensure that the points staked are
44 within the specified survey accuracy tolerances.
I
45
46 The Contractor shall calculate coordinates for the alignment. The Contracting Agency
47 will verify these coordinates prior to issuing approval to the Contractor for commencing
I 48 with the work. The Contracting Agency will require up to seven calendar days from the
49 date the data is received.
50
1
N.
