Per the 1997 UBC, the term Corridor is specific to a fire-rated hallway exiting component. <br /> To avoid confusion, the term Hallway should be used for the exiting components used in this I <br /> building. Section 10043. <br /> 2. A door schedule should be provided so that exit widths may be reviewed. <br /> 3. It should be clarified that the stair guardrail will continue for upper-level set of stairs. Refer <br /> to Detail 7/A6.1 <br /> 4. All wall and floor/ceiling assemblies comprising the stair enclosures are required to be a <br /> minimum l Yx hour rated per Item 3 to Section 10053.3.2. Details should be provided. <br /> 5. The exit enclosure walls in both stair sections shown on Sheet A/4.3 bear on floodceiling <br /> assemblies. Those floor/ceiling assemblies and any structure supporting those assemblies are <br /> required to be rated for two-hour construction. Details should be provided <br /> 6. If the ceiling forms a protective membrane for the fire-resistive floor/ceiling assembly <br /> supporting the stair enclosures, individual protection for the struch:ral members equivalent to <br /> two-hours fire resistance will be required. Section 704.2.6 <br /> 7. The doors into the stair enclosures should 'ue shovm as 90-minute rated assemblies with <br /> maximum temperature rise not to exceed 450 degrees. Section 100533.5 <br /> 8. An approved bamer shoald be provided at the exterior exit level in thc eastern stair enclosure <br /> to prevent accidentu! exiting into the basement. Section 100533.4 <br /> 9. Exit signs should be shown at the exterior doors within the exit enclosures at the main level. <br /> Section 1003.2.8.2 <br /> 10. Stainvay identification signs conforming to the requirements of Section 1003.3.13 should be <br /> provided at each level within both stairs. <br /> 11. A means for emergency entry by the fire department into the stair enclosures should be <br /> provided per the requirements of the UFC. Section 1003.3.3.9 <br /> 12. Landings with a depth of at least 44 inches should be shown at the exterior stair enclusure <br /> doors. Section 10033.1.7 <br /> 13.
