1 1 <br /> 2 1-07.23 Public Convenience and Safety <br /> 3 <br /> 4 1-07.23 (1) Construction Under Traffic <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Section 1-07.23(1) is supplemented with the following: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 <br /> 9 (******) <br /> 10 Public access to/from the Port of Everett's ADA Accessible, South Guest Dock must be <br /> 11 maintained at all times, including sidewalk access along WMVD in both directions. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 <br /> 14 (January 2, 2012 WSDOT GSP OPT2) <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Work Zone Clear Zone <br /> 17 The Work Zone Clear Zone (WZCZ)applies during working and nonworking hours. <br /> 18 The WZCZ applies only to temporary roadside objects introduced by the <br /> 19 Contractor's operations and does not apply to preexisting conditions or permanent I <br /> 20 Work. Those work operations that are actively in progress shall be in accordance <br /> 21 with adopted and approved Traffic Control Plans, and other contract requirements. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 During nonworking hours equipment or materials shall not be within the WZCZ <br /> 24 unless they are protected by permanent guardrail or temporary concrete barrier. <br /> 25 The use of temporary concrete barrier shall be permitted only if the Engineer <br /> 26 approves the installation and location. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 During actual hours of work, unless protected as described above, only materials <br /> 29 absolutely necessary to construction shall be within the WZCZ and only <br /> 30 construction vehicles absolutely necessary to construction shall be allowed within <br /> 31 the WZCZ or allowed to stop or park on the shoulder of the roadway. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 The Contractor's nonessential vehicles and employees private vehicles shall not be <br /> 34 permitted to park within the WZCZ at any time unless protected as described above. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Deviation from the above requirements shall not occur unless the Contractor has <br /> 37 requested the deviation in writing and the Engineer has provided written approval. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Minimum WZCZ distances are measured from the edge of traveled way and will be <br /> 40 determined as follows: <br /> 41 <br /> Regulatory Distance From <br /> Posted Speed Traveled Way <br /> (Feet) <br /> 35 mph or less 10 * <br /> 40 mph 15 <br /> 45 to 55 mph 20 <br /> 60 mph or greater 30 <br /> 42 * or 2-feet beyond the outside edge of sidewalk <br /> 43 <br /> WEST MARINE VIEW DRIVE UTILITIES PAGE 55 OF 117 August 2018 <br /> WORK ORDER#3588 <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />
