I 1 1 Minimum Work Zone Clear Zone Distance 2 I4 35 I6 7 (January 5, 2015 WSDOT GSP OPT5) 8 9 Lane closures are subject to the following restrictions: I10 11 12 Along West Marine View Drive: III 13 14 • Heroes Half Marathon—Sunday in mid-April '. This is an annual event involving 15 lane closures along SR 529 in the vicinity of this project. I16 • City of Everett Colors of Freedom Fireworks—Occurs annually on July 4th. This 17 event does not directly affect SR 529 in the vicinity of this project but extremely 18 high traffic volumes past the site should be expected after the conclusion of the I19 fireworks at about 10:45 PM. 20 • Making Strides Against Breast Cancer— Saturday in mid-October '. This is an 21 annual event that in the past used a route along SR 529. They used the III22 pedestrian walkway, but not the roadway, in the vicinity of this project. 23 • Port of Everett Holiday Craft Market —Saturday and Sunday in early 24 December'. This event is entirely on Port property, but it may generate I25 increased traffic volumes along SR 529 in the vicinity of this project. 26 27 General Requirements -Traffic I28 29 The following general requirements apply to all Work on the Project: 30 I31 1. The Contractor is permitted to close travel lane(s) on the block of W Marine View 32 Drive between 18th Street and Port Gardner Way during construction as follows: 33 34 A. it is acceptable to close 1 lane northbound and/or 1 lane southbound and/or the 1 35 center two way left turn lane at any time of day or week to complete work on 36 this project. These closures must be coordinated with the Public Works 37 inspector but as long as 1 northbound and 1 southbound lane are kept open this I38 type of closure request would typically be approved unless necessary to avoid 39 conflict with a special event. 40 B. It is acceptable to close both lanes southbound while diverting southbound I41 traffic into the two way left turn lane at any time of day or week to complete work 42 on this project. This closure may be concurrent with the closure of 1 northbound 43 lane or the center turn lane. These closures must be coordinated with the Public I44 Works inspector who may impose other time restrictions to minimize impact to 45 adjacent businesses and/or avoid conflict with a special event. 46 C. It is acceptable to close both lanes northbound while diverting northbound traffic I47 into the two way left turn lane or south bound lanes on weekdays any time 48 except and any time on weekends to complete work on this project, unless the 49 Public Works Director has approved weekend closures for a specific work item 50 request.
