I <br /> 1 disposal site, and transporting and disposing of hazardous or contaminated materials at an ' <br /> 2 approved facility will be paid by force account under the item "Unanticipated Potentially <br /> 3 Hazardous Material Handling And Disposal". <br /> 4 <br /> 5 To provide a common basis for all bidders, the Contracting Agency has entered an amount <br /> 6 in the proposal to become a part of the Contractor's total bid. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 2-03 ROADWAY EXCAVATION AND EMBANKMENT <br /> 9 1 10 2-03.3(3) Excavation Below Subgrade <br /> 11 Section 2-03.3(3) is supplemented with the following: <br /> 12 <br /> 13 (******) <br /> 14 <br /> 15 The following is inserted after the second paragraph: <br /> 1 <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Subexcavation. At any time, the Engineer may order excavation below subgrade to remove <br /> 18 soft and uncompactible material. The replacement material shall be free draining and <br /> 19 granular, or other materials as determined by the Engineer. <br /> I <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Overexcavation up to 2' or less below subgrade as required by this paragraph shall be <br /> 22 accomplished at unit contract prices for Structure Excavation Class B <br /> 23 I <br /> 24 Overexcavation over 2' below subgrade as requested by this paragraph will be paid for as <br /> 25 "Unsuitable Excavation." I 26 <br /> 27 Imported material shall be "Natural Sand" or "Gravel Borrow" as noted on the plans and/or <br /> 28 directed by the engineer. "Natural Sand" shall conform to Section 9-03.2(1) of the Standard <br /> 29 Specifications. Gravel Borrow shall conform to Section 9-03.14(1) of these Special ' <br /> 30 Provisions. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Imported material required by this paragraph shall be paid for by the unit bid price for that <br /> I <br /> 33 material. Payment for placement and compaction of import material shall be included in the <br /> 34 unit price per ton of import material. <br /> 35 <br /> I <br /> 36 2-03.3(7) Disposal of Surplus Material <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Contractor-Provided Disposal Site <br /> 39 Section 2-03.3(7)C is supplemented with the following: 111 <br /> 40 <br /> 41 (February 17, 1998 City of Everett GSP) <br /> 42 The Contractor shall make his own arrangements for disposal of surplus material <br /> 43 and shall protect the City from any and all damages arising therefrom.
