Research documentation of relevant and comparable full-scale evidence which I <br /> 2 quantifies the performance of the alternate geogrid material with repetitive <br /> 3 loading applied by a passing wheel load of at least 4,500 pounds per single <br /> I <br /> 4 wheel or 9,000 pounds per dual wheel. <br /> 5 d. A list of 5 comparable projects that are similar in terms of size and application, <br /> 6 are located in the United States, and where the results of using the specific t <br /> 7 alternate geogrid material can be verified after a minimum of 1 year of service <br /> 8 life. <br /> 9 e. A sample (meeting the requirements of sub-part 1.05A of this Section) of the <br /> 10 alternate geogrid material and certified specification sheets. 0 <br /> 11 f. Recommended installation instructions. <br /> 12 g. Additional information as requested by the Engineer to fully evaluate the <br /> I <br /> 13 product. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 2-13.3 Construction Requirements <br /> I <br /> 16 <br /> 17 2-13.3(1) Submittals <br /> 18 1. Submit geogrid product sample approximately 4 inches by 7 inches or larger. <br /> I <br /> 19 2. Submit geogrid product data sheet and certification from the Manufacturer that the <br /> 20 geogrid product supplied meets the requirements of Section 2-13.2 of this Section. <br /> 21 3. Submit Manufacturer's installation instructions and general recommendations. <br /> 22 <br /> I <br /> 23 2-13.3(2) Quality Assurance <br /> 24 Pre-Construction Conference - Prior to the installation of the geogrid, the Contractor shall <br /> 25 arrange a meeting at the site with the geogrid material supplier and, where applicable, the <br /> I <br /> 26 geogrid installer. The Owner and the Engineer shall be notified at least 3 days in advance of <br /> 27 the time of the meeting. A representative of the geogrid supplier shall be available on an "as <br /> 28 needed" basis during construction. I 29 <br /> 30 2-13.3(3) Delively, Storage, and Handling <br /> 31 Storage and Protection <br /> I <br /> 32 1. Prevent excessive mud, wet concrete, epoxy, or other deleterious materials from <br /> 33 coming in contact with and affixing to the geogrid materials. <br /> 34 2. Store at temperatures above -20 degrees F (-29 degrees C). I 35 3. Rolled materials may be laid flat or stood on end. <br /> 36 4. Geogrid materials should not be left directly exposed to sunlight for a period longer <br /> 37 than the period recommended by the manufacturer. <br /> I <br /> 38 <br /> 39 The Contractor shall check the geogrid upon delivery to verify that the proper material has <br /> 40 been received.The geogrid shall be inspected by the Contractor to be free of flaws or damage <br /> 41 occurring during manufacturing, shipping, or handling. <br /> I <br /> 42 <br /> 43 2-13.3(4) Installation <br /> 44 The geogrid shall be laid at the proper elevation and alignment as shown on the construction <br /> II <br /> 45 drawings. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 The geogrid shall be installed in accordance with the installation guidelines provided by the <br /> I <br /> 48 manufacturer or as directed by the Engineer. <br /> 49 <br /> WEST MARINE VIEW DRIVE UTILITIES PAGE 87 OF 117 August 2018 <br /> I <br /> WORK ORDER#3588 <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />
