I <br /> I1 Hand screeding and float finishing of cement concrete pavement patch is allowable. <br /> 2 Cut cores in accordance with 5-05.3(7) of the Standard Specifications at the rate of one core <br /> I <br /> 3 per block. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Form transverse construction joints to match existing pavement transverse joints using a <br /> I 6 suitable power driven concrete saw. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Place cement concrete pavement directly against the bare sawcut vertical face of the <br /> 9 adjacent concrete pavement. <br /> I10 <br /> 11 Finish surface using broom in direction perpendicular to the centerline with a fiber brush. <br /> 12 <br /> I13 Date stamping pavement will not be required. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Cure cement concrete pavement in accordance with 5-05.3(13) of the Standard <br /> I16 Specifications. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Cement concrete pavement will be measured and paid for by the square yard of completed <br /> I19 pavement patch. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 5-06.3(3) Cement Concrete Pavement Resurfaced with HMA <br /> I22 Patch streets having cement concrete pavements surfaced with HMA as shown on Standard <br /> 23 Drawing No. 326. <br /> 24 <br /> I25 The top surface of the concrete patch shall match the top surface of the existing concrete <br /> 26 base; in no case shall the top of the concrete be higher than the top of the existing concrete <br /> 27 base. Brush finishing will not be required. Joints shall be placed to match existing or as <br /> 28 directed by the Engineer. <br /> I <br /> 29 <br /> 30 HMA plant mix shall not be placed until three days after the cement concrete base has been <br /> 31 placed or otherwise permitted by the Engineer. The HMA plant mix shall not be placed until <br /> I32 the concrete base has received a tack coat of CRS-2 at a rate of 0.12 to 0.20-gallons per <br /> 33 square yard. The edges of the existing asphalt and castings shall also be painted with the <br /> 34 tack coat. The HMA pavement shall then be placed, leveled, and compacted to conform to <br /> I35 the surface of the existing HMA. Immediately thereafter, all joints between the new and <br /> 36 original asphalt pavement shall be painted with CSS-1 asphalt emulsion and covered with <br /> 37 dry sand before the asphalt solidifies. <br /> I38 <br /> 39 Asphalt shall be compacted to 92-percent of maximum density as determined by WSDOT <br /> 40 Test Method 705. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 5-06.3(4) HMA on Granular Base <br /> 43 After the Crushed Surfacing Top Course subgrade has been leveled and compacted, HMA <br /> I44 CL 1/2", PG 64-22 shall be placed to a thickness of one inch greater than the existing asphalt <br /> 45 pavement depth or to a minimum of three inches, whichever is greater. Asphalt shall be <br /> 46 compacted to 92-percent of maximum density as determined by WSDOT Test Method 705. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 5-06.3(5) Untreated Roadway Surfaces <br /> 49 Existing crushed rock, gravel, and oil mat streets shall be restored with Crushed Surfacing <br /> 50 Top Course to a compacted depth of four inches within the neat lines of the trench.
