I <br /> 1 1 The Contractor's request shall list the specific items of work that remain to be completed in <br /> 2 order to reach physical completion. The Engineer will schedule an inspection of the work <br /> I 3 4 with the Contractor to determine the status of completion. The Engineer may also establish <br /> the Substantial Completion Date unilaterally. <br /> 5 <br /> I 6 7 If, after this inspection, the Engineer concurs with the Contractor that the work is <br /> substantially complete and ready for its intended use, the Engineer, by written notice to the <br /> 8 Contractor, will set the Substantial Completion Date. If, after this inspection the Engineer <br /> 9 does not consider the work substantially complete and ready for its intended use, the <br /> I10 Engineer will, by written notice, so notify the Contractor giving the reasons therefor. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Upon receipt of written notice concurring in or denying substantial completion, whichever is <br /> I13 applicable, the Contractor shall pursue vigorously, diligently and without unauthorized <br /> 14 interruption, the work necessary to reach Substantial and Physical Completion. The <br /> 15 Contractor shall provide the Engineer with a revised schedule indicating when the <br /> I16 Contractor expects to reach substantial and physical completion of the work. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 The above process shall be repeated until the Engineer establishes the Substantial <br /> I19 Completion Date and the Contractor considers the work physically complete and ready for <br /> 20 final inspection. <br /> 21 <br /> I22 1-05.11(2) Final Inspection and Physical Completion Date <br /> 23 <br /> 24 When the Contractor considers the work physically complete and ready for final inspection, <br /> ' 25 the Contractor by written notice, shall request the Engineer to schedule a final inspection. <br /> 26 The Engineer will seta date for final inspection. The Contractor <br /> I29 shall immediately take such corrective measures as are necessary to remedy the listed <br /> 30 deficiencies. Corrective work shall be pursued vigorously, diligently, and without interruption <br /> 31 until physical completion of the listed deficiencies. This process will continue until the <br /> I32 Engineer is satisfied the listed deficiencies have been corrected. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 If action to correct the listed deficiencies is not initiated within 7 days after receipt of the <br /> I35 written notice listing the deficiencies, the Engineer may, upon written notice to the <br /> 36 Contractor, take whatever steps are necessary to correct those deficiencies pursuant to <br /> 37 Section 1-05.7. <br /> I38 The Contractor will not be allowed an extension of contract time because of a delay in the <br /> 39 performance of the work attributable to the exercise of the Engineer's right hereunder. <br /> 40 <br /> I41 Upon correction of all deficiencies, the Engineer will notify the Contractor and the Contracting <br /> 42 Agency, in writing, of the date upon which the work was considered physically complete. That <br /> 43 date shall constitute the Physical Completion Date of the contract, but shall not imply <br /> 44 acceptance of the work or that all the obligations of the Contractor under the contract have <br /> I45 been fulfilled. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 1-05.11(3) Operational Testing <br /> I48 <br /> 49 It is the intent of the Contracting Agency to have at the Physical Completion Date a <br /> 50 complete and operable system.
