Downtown Everett reaches. new prominence as thousands of residents and dozens of <br />businesses join those who already make Everett home. New and established alike take full advantage of <br />Downtown's unrivaled access to nature, housing, and employment, and they enjoy its diverse dining, <br />entertainment, and cultural options. They make a point to participate and shop locally, bringing vitality <br />to Downtown streets, businesses, and institutions. The region appreciates Everett's value, bringing <br />investment, new construction, and tasteful renovations that capitalize on Everett's classic street grid and <br />historic architecture, resulting in a dynamic, walkable, and exceptionally authentic city. <br />Ongoing 1. Promote Downtown Everett <br />2019 2. Designate a Community Renewal Area —as recommended in the Metro Everett Plan — <br />and a project -driven Renewal Plan that includes: <br />Early 2019 a. Updates to the Multi -family Property Tax Exemption Program <br />Mid 2019 b. Enforced codes and policies to eliminate blight <br />Late 2019 c. A new fund to buy key properties <br />2020 d. Incentives to attract residents and business headquarters <br />2020 e. Policies that lead to three historic building renovations <br />Ongoing 3. Partner with Downtown Everett Association <br />Mid 2019 a. Create recommendations to better manage on -street parking, upgrade the <br />EverPark Garage, and if and where a new parking garage should be built <br />2019 b. Investigate full membership in the Main Street Program <br />2020 4. Complete planned Hoyt and Rucker Streetscape improvements <br />2019 5. Support Everett Station Area's effort to form a Business Improvement Area <br />Ongoing 6.
