I Providence Famity Services Center 9-9A-z23-0
August 25, 1999 Pape 4
t

Appendix A of this report describes our field exploration procedures, and Appendix B describes our
laboratory testing procedures.
IThe specific number, locations, and depths of our explorations were selected in relaGon to the
existing and proposed site features, under the constraints of surface access, underground utility
I conflicts, and budget considerations. We estimated the reiative location of each exploration by
I measuring from existinn feaures and scaling these measurements onto a layout plan of the
existing development supp'F d to us, then we estimated their elevations by interpolaUng between
I contour lines shown on this same plan. Consequently, the data listed in Table 1 and the locations
depicted on Figure 2 should be considered accurate only to the degree pertnitted by our data
sources and implied by our measuring methods.
It should be realized that the explorations iaerformed for this evaluation reveal subsurface
conditions only at discrete locations across thE project site and that actual conditions in other areas
I could vary. Furthermore, the nature and extent of any such variations would not become evident
until additional explorzions are pertormed or until construction activities have begun. If significant
variations are observed at that time,we may need to modify our conGusions and recommendations
Icontained in this report to reflect 4he actual site conditions.
( TABLE 1
APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS, ELEVATIONS, AND DEPTHS OF EXPLORATIONS
I Surface Tertninallon
Ezploration Functional Location Elevation Depth
(feet) (feet)
IB- Flat, landscape area near crest of ravine 207 34
' B-2 South-central end of asphalt-paved parking 209 23'/z
I B3 Asphalt-paved parking lot near rockery 210 39
B-4 Asphalt-paved parking lot near oxygen tank 217 14
B-5 Asphalt-paved fire lane southeast of building 20F 29
I B-6 Asphalt-paved parking lot south of building 205 39
B-7 Landscaped area at Kromer Avenue entrance 205 34
B-8 Asphalt-paved parking lot northwest oi building 199 44
I B-9 Asphalt-paved parking lot northeast of building 205 39
B-10 Landscaped area within building courtyard 206 28'/z
Elevation datum: Site surve ma
(
I
( 5WORDPROC99 Proects5nitieN 3000stl 2]]ReCnSonProeOMce NOspRp.wpE 7►V
V
I
