CONSTRUCTION CLEANING <br /> 017100- 1 <br /> SECTION 017100 - CONSTRUCTION CLEANING <br /> 1. GENERAL <br /> 1.1. General: Provide final cleaning of the Work at the time indicated. Employ <br /> experienced workers or professional cleaners for final cleaning. Clean each surface <br /> or unit of work to the condition expected from a normal, commercial building <br /> cleaning and maintenance program. Comply with the manufacturer's instructions for <br /> operations. <br /> 1.2. Related Requirements: See individual specifications sections for specific cleaning for <br /> product or work. <br /> 2. PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1. Equipment: Provide covered containers for deposit of waste materials, debris, and <br /> rubbish. <br /> 2.2. Cleaning Agents: Use cleaning materials and agents recommended by the <br /> manufacturer or fabricator of the surface to be cleaned. Do not use cleaning agents <br /> that are potentially hazardous to health or property, or that might damage finished <br /> surfaces. Submit Material Safety Data Sheet and maintain a MSDS file on site while <br /> working. <br /> 3. EXECUTION <br /> 3.1. Maintain areas under Contractors control free of waste materials, debris, and rubbish. <br /> Maintain site in a clean and orderly condition. <br /> 3.2. Remove debris and rubbish from pipe chases,plenums, crawl spaces, and other <br /> closed or remote spaces,prior to closing the space. <br /> 3.3. Periodically clean construction areas to provide suitable conditions for work. <br /> 3.4. Clean construction areas prior to start of surface finishing, and continue cleaning on <br /> an as-needed basis. <br /> 3.5. Control cleaning operations so that dust and other particulates will not adhere to wet <br /> or newly coated surfaces. <br /> 3.6. Protect lawn and landscaped areas. <br /> 3.7. Remove waste materials, debris and rubbish from site periodically and dispose of <br /> off-site. <br /> 3.8. Environmental Requirements: Comply fully with federal and local environmental <br /> and anti-pollution regulations. Remove waste materials from the site and dispose of <br /> in a lawful manner. <br /> 1. Do not dispose of volatile wastes such as mineral spirits, oil,paint <br /> thinner or other harmful materials in storm or sanitary drains. <br /> 2. Burning or buying of debris,rubbish or other waste material on <br /> the premises will not be permitted. <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
