CONSTRUCTION CLEANING <br /> 017100-2 <br /> 4. FINAL CLEANING PRIOR TO SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION <br /> 4.1 Complete the following cleaning operations before requesting the <br /> Architect/Engineer's inspection for certification of Substantial Completion of the <br /> Work. <br /> 1. Clean all finishes to a dust-free condition, free of dust, stains, films and <br /> similar noticeable distracting substances. Restore reflective surfaces to their <br /> original reflective condition. Leave concrete floor broom clean. Vacuum <br /> carpeted surfaces. Damp mop resilient floor coverings. <br /> 2. Wipe surfaces of mechanical and electrical equipment clean. Remove excess <br /> lubrication and other substances. Clean plumbing fixtures to a sanitary <br /> condition. Clean light fixtures and lamps. <br /> 3. Remove all construction debris and clean mechanical and/or electrical <br /> equipment rooms and attic areas. Wipe surfaces of all equipment clean. <br /> 4. Clean the project site, including landscape development areas, of rubbish, <br /> litter and other foreign substances. Sweep paved areas to a broom clean <br /> condition; remove stains, spills and other foreign deposits. Rake grounds that <br /> are neither paved nor planted to a smooth even-textured surface. <br /> 5. Clean all finished surfaces, including but not limited to the following: <br /> 1. Clean light globes and tubes <br /> 2. Remove dust and debris form all exposed surfaces <br /> 3. Clean parking lots and egress points <br /> 4. Clean walkways <br /> 4.2 Removal of Protection: Except as otherwise indicated or requested by the <br /> Architect/Engineer, remove temporary protection devices and facilities which were <br /> installed during the course of the work to protect previously completed work during <br /> the remainder of the construction period. <br /> END OF SECTION 017100 <br /> I <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
