CASCADE HIGH SCHOOL SYNTHETIC TURF FIELD <br /> EVERETT PUBLIC SCHOOL 09/12/2013 <br /> PART 2-PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 MATERIALS <br /> A. Washed Crushed Rock <br /> 1. All aggregate rock will be 100% ledge rock, fractured by mechanical means. Rounded sands or <br /> aggregates are prohibited. Aggregates will have at least three fractured sides. Crushed Rock <br /> shall be clean. <br /> 2. The four-inch(4"-of 1-1/4"minus)base rock will conform to the following gradations: <br /> Sieve Percent Passing by Weight <br /> 1-1/4 " 100 <br /> 1 95-100 <br /> 80-100 <br /> 60-80 <br /> 3/8" 30-50 <br /> No.4 20-40 <br /> No. 8 10-30 <br /> No.40 5-17 <br /> No. 100 2-4 <br /> No. 200 0-2(Wet) <br /> No.270 0-1 (Wet) <br /> 2. The two-inch (2"- of 3/8" minus) top rock (level course) will conform to the following <br /> gradations: <br /> Sieve Percent Passing by Weight <br /> 3/8" 100 <br /> 80-90 <br /> No. 10 30-40 <br /> No.40 10-15 <br /> No. 100 2-4 <br /> No. 200 0-2 (Wet) <br /> No. 270 0-1 (Wet) <br /> B. Fractured rock must be kept at 90%-100%of optimum moisture content so that fines will not migrate or <br /> segregate during transport or placement. Contractor assumes all responsibility for inspecting material <br /> at offsite supply stockpile prior to transporting of material to insure material leaving the offsite supply <br /> stockpile meets all requirements. <br /> C. Base rock shall be free of materials that might be reactive in the presence of water,sunlight,heat and/or <br /> combinations of these such that the permeability of the rock base might be adversely affected. Any <br /> permeability of the rock base due to water, sunlight and/or heat shall be removed from the site and <br /> replaced at Contractors expense. <br /> D. All rock shall be free of deleterious materials before and after placement. Deleterious materials <br /> include, but are not limited to, wood items, trash, oils, greases, cigarette butts and filters, food items, <br /> etc. <br /> ROCK AGGREGATE 32 1100 -2 <br />
