CASCADE HIGH SCHOOL SYNTHETIC TURF FIELD <br /> EVERETT PUBLIC SCHOOL 09/12/2013 <br /> PART 3 -EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 GENERAL <br /> A. Prior to the beginning of the rock installation, the geo-textile blanket and the drain system will be <br /> inspected by General Contractor, Installation Contractor, Owner and Landscape Architect for proper <br /> placement and structural integrity. Installation Contractor will accept condition of geo-textile prior to <br /> starting his work. Said Contractor at his expense will repair all damage to the geo-textile fabric due to <br /> the execution of his work. Any and all tears, rips or holes shall be repaired after removal of damaged <br /> goods with new material overlapped on all sides a minimum of 12" over installed material and held in <br /> place by drain rock until backfilled. <br /> 3.2 INSTALLATION OF ROCK SUB-SURFACE: <br /> A. Placement, grading and compaction of the base materials require great care. Improper handling, <br /> placement, grading and/or compaction can result in irreparable damage to the intended function of the <br /> base. Contractor shall closely adhere to the manufacturer's installation recommendations and assumes <br /> all risks and liabilities associated with inadequate function of the base system, including removal and <br /> replacement. <br /> B. Bring the rock material initially to the peripheral areas of the field using single trucks and transfers. No <br /> pups or trailers will be permitted on the field. Push the rock onto the existing drainage membrane so as <br /> to make a road for the spreading the material. Truck traffic shall not be permitted on the drainage <br /> membrane. Rock spreading will be performed using wide track equipment only. The rock material will <br /> not be pushed more than 50' (fifty feet) in any direction. Any and all damage done to the drainage <br /> membrane or other utility or structure will be repaired or replaced to the satisfaction of Owner and <br /> Landscape Architect. <br /> C. Any segregation of rock in the final grade of the initial 4" placement or the top 2" leveling course, <br /> Contractor will immediately remove and dispose of the product and install new material as per <br /> specifications. Double handling or reuse of the removed material will not be allowed. After rock is in <br /> place, Contractor will notify the Project Landscape Architect(Design 2426,425-881-2426)48 hours in <br /> advance for compaction tests. Rock subgrade shall be compacted to 95% maximum dry density <br /> (Standard Proctor). <br /> D. All rock placements will be done using laser control equipment. Grade tolerances will be+0"to—1/4". <br /> Any and all discrepancies will be fixed to the satisfaction of Owner,Landscape Architect and Synthetic <br /> Turf Installation Contractor. <br /> E. Contractor shall field verify permeability using a field modified head percolation test every 1000 sq.ft. <br /> of surface area, evenly distributed on the compacted base rock. Water shall pass through the base rock <br /> at a minimum rate of 30"per hour. <br /> F. Prior to installation of the Brock® Performance Base F20, Artificial Turf Contractor shall approve the <br /> rock installation as to compaction,planarity and drainage capability. <br /> END OF SECTION 32 1100 <br /> ROCK AGGREGATE 32 1100 -3 <br />
