INSPECTIONS AND TESTS <br /> 014000- 1 <br /> SECTION 014000—INSPECTIONS AND TESTS <br /> 1. GENERAL <br /> 1.1. Related Documents: Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including <br /> General and Supplementary Conditions, Special Conditions and other Division-I <br /> Specifications Sections, apply to work of this Section. <br /> 1.2. Inspection and tests specified herein are in addition to those performed by building <br /> officials, as required by the building code. <br /> 1.3. Performed by independent testing and inspection laboratory selected by Owner and <br /> approved by building official. Cooperate with inspector to fullest extent. <br /> 2. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS <br /> 2.1. General: Required inspection and testing services are intended to assist in the <br /> determination of probable compliance of the Work with requirements specified or <br /> indicated. These required services do not relieve the Contractor of responsibility for <br /> compliance with these requirements or for compliance with requirements of the <br /> Contract Documents. <br /> 2.2. Definitions: The requirements of this Section relate primarily to customized <br /> fabrication and installation procedures, not to the production of standard products. <br /> Quality control services include inspections and tests and related actions including <br /> reports,performed by independent agencies and governing authorities, as well as <br /> directly by the Contractor. These services do not include Contract enforcement <br /> activities performed directly by the Architect or Engineer. <br /> 1. Specific quality control requirements for individual units of work are <br /> specified in the Sections of these specifications that specify the individual <br /> element of the Work. These requirements, including inspections and tests, <br /> cover both production of standard products, and fabrication of customized <br /> work. These requirements also cover quality control of the installation <br /> procedures. <br /> 2. Inspections, tests and related actions specified in this Section and elsewhere <br /> in the Contract Documents are not intended to limit the Contractor's own <br /> quality control procedures which facilitate overall quality. <br /> 3. Requirements for the Contractor to provide quality control services as <br /> required by the Architect/Engineer, the Owner, governing authorities or other <br /> authorized entities are not limited by the provisions of this section. <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
