INSPECTIONS AND TESTS <br /> 014000-2 <br /> 3. RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> 3.1. Owner Responsibilities: The Owner will employ and pay for the services of an <br /> independent agency, testing laboratory or other qualified firm to perform services <br /> which are the Owner's responsibility. <br /> 3.2. Retest Responsibility: Where results of required inspections, tests or similar services <br /> prove unsatisfactory and do not indicate compliance of related work with the <br /> requirements of the Contract Documents, then retests are the responsibility of the <br /> Contractor, regardless of whether the original test was the Contractor's responsibility. <br /> Retesting of work revised or replaced by the Contractor is the Contractor's <br /> responsibility,where required tests were performed on original work. <br /> 3.3. Responsibility for Associated Services: The Contractor is required to cooperate with <br /> the independent agencies performing required inspections, tests and similar services; <br /> to provide such auxiliary services as are reasonably requested; and to notify the <br /> testing agency sufficiently in advance of operations to permit assignment of <br /> personnel. These auxiliary services include but are not necessarily limited to the <br /> following: <br /> 1. Providing access to the work <br /> 2. Security and protection of samples and test equipment at the Project site <br /> 3.4. Coordination: The Contractor and each independent agency engaged to perform <br /> inspections,tests and similar services for the Project shall coordinate the sequence of <br /> their activities so as to accommodate required services with a minimum of delay in <br /> the progress of the work. In addition the Contractor and each independent testing <br /> agency shall coordinate their work so as to avoid the necessity of removing and <br /> replacing work to accommodate inspections and tests. The Contractor is responsible <br /> for scheduling times for inspections, tests, and similar activities. <br /> 1. Notify Architect when ready for tests. Allow a minimum of forty-eight(48) <br /> hours' notice. <br /> 2.— Organize construction work in such a manner that minimum inspections are- <br /> required. <br /> rerequired. <br /> 4. SCHEDULE OF TESTING <br /> 1. Testing will be required for the following in accordance with the Contract <br /> Specifications: <br /> Earthwork <br /> Asphalt <br /> Concrete <br /> 2. All testing shall conform to current accepted industry standards and applicable <br /> governmental regulations. <br /> 3. All testing listed in this section will be paid directly by the Owner. The Contractor <br /> shall coordinate the activities of the testing company. The Contractor shall pay for <br /> all other required inspections.
