TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 015000-4 <br /> 4.2. Temporary Heat: Provide temporary heat and dehumidification where needed for <br /> performance of work, curing or drying of recently installed work, or protection of <br /> work in place from adverse effects of low temperatures or high humidity. Provide <br /> UL or FM tested and labeled heating units and/or dehumidification equipment known <br /> to be safe and without adverse effect upon work in place or being installed. <br /> Coordinate with ventilation requirements to produce the ambient condition and <br /> minimize fuel or energy consumption. <br /> 1. Maintain a minimum temperature of 55 deg F (7 deg C) in permanently <br /> enclosed portions of the building and areas where finished work has been <br /> installed. <br /> 2. Provide properly vented self-contained LP gas or fuel oil heaters with <br /> individual space thermostatic control for temporary heat. Do not use open <br /> burning or salamander type heating units. The owner may authorize the use <br /> of the permanent HVAC system if available,upon request. <br /> 4.3. Field Offices: Provide standard prefabricated or mobile units,or the equivalent job- <br /> built field offices of sufficient size to accommodate Contractor's required office <br /> personnel at the site. Provide insulated,weather tight units with lockable entrances, <br /> serviceable finishes and foundations adequate for normal loading. Provide resilient <br /> floor covering and painted drywall wall and ceiling finishing. Provide operable <br /> windows equipped with adjustable blinds and insect screens. <br /> 1. Provide vented space heater, capable of maintaining an indoor temperature of <br /> 65 deg F (20 deg C), and an air-conditioning unit capable of maintaining a <br /> maximum indoor temperature of 72 deg F (24 deg C). <br /> 2. Provide switch controlled fluorescent light fixtures and 100-120 volt duplex <br /> outlets spaced at 12'intervals, with a minimum of one per wall in each room. <br /> 3. Furnish with a desk and chairs, a 4-drawer file cabinet,plan table and plan <br /> rack and a 6-shelf bookcase. <br /> 4. Provide area on site adjacent to Contractor's office for Owner-supplied field <br /> office to be used exclusively by Architect and Owner's Representative. <br /> Provide temporary power,phone and refuse pickup to Owner office;pay all <br /> costs of installation and operation. <br /> 4.4. Storage and Fabrication Sheds: Install storage and fabrication sheds as required to <br /> accommodate the work. Sheds may be open shelters or fully enclosed spaces. <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
