TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 015000 - 5 <br /> 4.5. Temporary Roads and Paving: Provide temporary roads and paving as necessary <br /> during the course of the work. Where possible, locate in the same locations as <br /> permanent facilities. <br /> 1. Coordinate temporary paving with grading and compaction of the subgrade, <br /> installation and stabilization of subbase and; installation of base and fmish <br /> courses of permanent paving. Minimize exposure of incomplete work to <br /> deterioration and the need to rework installations. <br /> 2. Construct temporary roads and paving to support loading and to withstand <br /> exposure to traffic. Provide a level, graded and well-drained subgrade of <br /> satisfactory soil material well compacted. <br /> 3. Delay installation of the final course of permanent paving in areas exposed to <br /> temporary use, until immediately before Substantial Completion. <br /> 4. Provide temporary traffic control facilities at the junction of temporary roads <br /> with public roads, including warning signs for public traffic and "STOP" <br /> signs for entrance onto public roads. Comply with requirements of local <br /> traffic authorities. <br /> 1. Submit Haul Route Agreement and/or any Right-of-Way Use Permits <br /> per municipality requirements. <br /> 2. Provide traffic control signs, flaggers, etc.per requirements of Haul <br /> Route Agreement. <br /> 5. Submit proposed site access plan showing temporary roads and staging areas. <br /> 4.6. Sanitary Facilities: Sanitary facilities include temporary toilets,wash facilities and <br /> drinking water fixtures. Comply with governing regulations including safety and <br /> health codes for the type, number, location, operation and maintenance of fixtures <br /> and facilities. Locate so that no one will need to walk more than 2 stories vertically <br /> or 200 feet horizontally to reach these facilities. <br /> 1. Provide toilet tissue,paper towels,paper cups and similar disposable <br /> materials as appropriate for each facility. Provide covered waste containers <br /> for used material. <br /> 2. Toilets: Install single occupant-self-contained toilet units of the chemical, <br /> aerated recirculation or combustion type,properly vented and fully enclosed <br /> with glass fiber reinforced polyester shell. Use of pit-type privies will not be <br /> permitted. Provide separate toilet facilities for male and female construction <br /> personnel at ground level. <br /> 3. Drinking and Water Fixtures: Provide drinking water fountains where and <br /> when piped potable water, approved by local authorities, is reasonably <br /> accessible from permanent or temporary lines. Otherwise,provide <br /> containerized tap-dispenser bottled-water type drinking water units. <br /> 4.7. First Aid Supplies: Comply with governing regulations and recognized <br /> recommendations within the construction industry. <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
