TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 015000 - 6 <br /> 4.8. Dewatering Facilities and Drains: For temporary drainage and dewatering facilities <br /> and operations not directly associated with performance of work included under other <br /> sections, comply with dewatering requirements of applicable Division-2 sections. <br /> Where feasible,utilize the same facilities. Maintain the site, excavations and <br /> construction free of water. <br /> 1. Dispose of rainwater in a lawful manner,which will not result in flooding <br /> project or adjoining property, nor endanger either permanent work or <br /> temporary facilities. <br /> 4.9. Temporary Enclosure: Provide temporary enclosure of materials, equipment, work <br /> in progress and completed portions of the Work to provide protection from exposure, <br /> foul weather, other construction operations, and similar activities. Provide <br /> enclosures where temporary heat is needed and the permanent building enclosure is <br /> not completed, and there is no other provision for containment of heat. Coordinate <br /> with ventilating and material drying or curing requirements to avoid dangerous <br /> conditions. <br /> 1. Provide temporary enclosures by installing waterproof, fire-resistant,UL <br /> labeled tarpaulins with a flame-spread rating of 15 or less,using a minimum <br /> of wood framing. Use translucent nylon reinforced laminated polyethylene <br /> tarpaulins to admit the maximum amount of daylight. Individual openings of <br /> 25 square feet or less may be closed with plywood or similar materials. <br /> 2. Where temporary wood or plywood enclosure exceeds 100 square feet in <br /> area,use fire-retardant treated material (UL labeled Class "A") for the main <br /> sheathing, and use a minimum of non-treated wood framing and trim. <br /> 4.10. Project Identification and Temporary Signs: Prepare project identification and other <br /> signs of the size and with content indicated; install where indicated. Use exterior <br /> type, Grade B-B high density concrete form overlay plywood conforming to PS-1 of <br /> thickness indicated, and exterior grade acrylic latex-base enamel. Support on <br /> suitable posts or framing of treated wood or steel. Maintain in a manner which will <br /> properly inform the public and persons seeking entrance to the project. Do not <br /> permit installation of unauthorized signs that are visible outside the site. Engage <br /> professional sign painter to apply graphics and lettering as detailed on Drawings. <br /> 4.11. Collection and Disposal of Wastes: Establish a system for daily collection and <br /> disposal of waste materials. Enforce requirements strictly. Do not hold collected <br /> materials longer than 7 days during normal weather or 3 days when the daily <br /> temperature is expected to rise above 80 deg F (27 deg C). Handle waste materials <br /> that are hazardous, dangerous, or unsanitary separately from other waste by <br /> containerizing. Dispose of waste material in a lawful manner. <br /> 4.12. Miscellaneous Services and Facilities: Design, construct, and maintain <br /> miscellaneous services and facilities as needed to accommodate performance of the <br /> work, including temporary stairs,ramps, ladders, staging, shoring, scaffolding, <br /> temporary partitions, waste chutes and similar items. <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
