TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 015000 - 8 <br /> 1. If permanent fence is not used provide No. 11-gage galvanized open-mesh, <br /> chain-link fabric fencing 6 feet high with galvanized steel pipe posts, 1 1/2" <br /> for line posts and 2 1/2" for corner posts, driven 18"minimum into soil. <br /> Install steel pipe stiffeners at all corners and openings, and top tension wire. <br /> 5.5. Security Enclosure and Lockup: Install substantial temporary enclosure of partially <br /> completed areas of construction. Provide locking entrances adequate to prevent <br /> unauthorized entrance, vandalism, theft and similar violations of project security. <br /> 1. Where materials and equipment must be temporarily stored, and are <br /> substantial value or attractive for possible theft,provide a secure lockup. <br /> Enforce a strict discipline in connection with the timing of installation and <br /> release of materials,to minimize the opportunity for theft and vandalism. <br /> 5.6. Environmental Protection: Conduct construction activities, and by methods that <br /> comply with environmental regulations,minimize the possibility that air, waterways <br /> and subsoil might be contaminated or polluted, or that other undesirable effects <br /> might result from the performance of work at the site. Avoid the use of tools and <br /> equipment which produce harmful noise. Restrict the use of noise making tools and <br /> equipment to hours of use that will minimize complaints. <br /> 6. OPERATION, TERMINATION AND REMOVAL <br /> 6.1. Supervision: Limit availability of temporary services and facilities to essential and <br /> intended uses to minimize waste and abuse. Do not permit temporary installations to <br /> be abused or endangered. <br /> 6.2. Maintenance: Operate and maintain temporary services and facilities in good <br /> operating condition and in a safe and efficient manner until removal is authorized. <br /> Do not overload services or facilities. Protect from damage by freezing temperatures <br /> and similar elements. Do not allow unsanitary conditions,public nuisances or <br /> hazardous conditions to develop or persist on the site. <br /> 1. Maintain operation of temporary enclosures, heating, cooling, humidity — <br /> control, ventilation and similar facilities on a 24-hour basis where required to <br /> achieve indicated results and avoid the possibility of damage to the Work or <br /> to temporary facilities. <br /> 6.3. Protection: Prevent water filled piping from freezing. Maintain markers for <br /> underground lines. Protect from damage during excavation. <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
