The following days are hereby designated paid holidays <br /> 1 for those Appointive Officers in pay status on the day <br /> before and the day after the holiday: <br /> 2 HOLIDAY DATE <br /> 3 New Years Day January 1, 1975 <br /> Memorial Day May 26, 1975 <br /> 4 Independence Day July 4, 1975 <br /> Labor Day September 1, 1975 <br /> 5 Thanksgiving Day November 27 , 1975 <br /> Christmas December 25, 1975 <br /> 6 In addition to those specific holidays listed above, each <br /> Appointive Officer will be allowed five (5) floating holi- <br /> 7 days to be taken in lieu of : (1) Lincoln ' s Birthday, <br /> 8 (2) Washington ' s Birthday, (3) Columbus Day, (4) Veteran' s <br /> Day, and (5) Election Day, upon application to and con- <br /> currence by their department heads; in the case of <br /> 9 department heads, application to and concurrence by the <br /> Chief Administrative Assistant. Any Appointive Officer <br /> 10 who terminates after taking his or her holiday prior to <br /> the holiday shall have those holidays taken in advance <br /> 11 deducted from such employee' s final paycheck at eight (8) <br /> hours straight time pay per holiday. <br /> 12 <br /> D. Recognizing that an annual vacation is of benefit to both <br /> 13 the Appointive Officers and the City, such officers, not <br /> including Department Heads, shall accrue vacation credit <br /> 14 for each month of continuous service as shown on the <br /> table below: <br /> 15 <br /> VACATION CREDIT ACCRUED <br /> 16 NUMBER OF WORK DAYS <br /> 17 CONTINUOUS SERVICE FROM <br /> EMPLOYEE ANNIVERSARY DATE Per Month Per Year <br /> 18 1st Year 1-1/6 days 14 <br /> 19 2nd Year 1-1/4 days 15 <br /> 3rd & 4th Year 1-1/3 days 16 <br /> 5th Year 1-5/12 days 17 <br /> 20 6th & 7th Year 1-1/2 days 18 <br /> 8th & 9th Year 1-7/12 days 19 <br /> 21 10th through 14th Year 1-2/3 days 20 <br /> 15th through 19th Year 1-5/6 days 22 <br /> 22 20th Year & beyond 2 days 24 <br /> 23 Department Heads shall accrue vacation at the rate of two <br /> 24 (2) days per month or 24 days per year . <br /> No vacation credit accrual will be allowed in excess of <br /> 25 two (2) full years accrual without prior permission of <br /> the Mayor . <br /> 26 <br /> No vacation shall be granted until the Appointed Officer <br /> 27 has completed a minimum of nine months of City service <br /> without prior permission of the Mayor. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
