The general requiremenu of AV✓WA and the WSDOT/APWA Standazd <br />Specificarions shall apply unless they aze inconsis�ent wiih any of tbe provisions of ehis pardculaz section. <br />Should inconsistencies occur, these Standazds shall have precedence. <br />Any public water sysu=m, or any plumbing in a residential or nonresidenrial facility providing water for <br />human �onsumption ahich is connected to a public water system shall be lead free. With respect to <br />solders and flux lead free shall mean no more than 0.2% ]ead, and with respect to pipes and pipe fittings <br />no more than 8% lead. <br />Water main extension� will Uc required when the groperty dces not front on a water main or when the <br />exisdng water main �s not adequate for tbe increased use proposed. Tbe nvnimum exte�uion shall be to a <br />point at least 5 feet in �ide the prolongation of the properry line. The minimum size water maia shall be <br />decermined by the Cit� Engineer and shall be at least 8"'in diameter. unless otherwise approved by t,he <br />U[iliaes Superintendent. <br />R'arer main eztensions and/or new fue hydzant installarions may also be required per the requirements of <br />the City Fire Marshal. <br />- For sirygle family bom�:s and duplexes, a fire hydrant is required within 350 feec of any.structure. <br />For all other buildi�gs from triplexes to commercial uses, a fire hydrant is required within 200 fee[, bu� <br />,.not closer than 50 fect to any suucture (measured disfanee to be along route to be traveled by fire <br />equipment)_ • - <br />Water metcrs aze requiced for all new services including domesric, irrigarion and fire services. <br />Unless fin'ish gade :nformation is provided to tl�e water scrvice consnvctiou crew prior to the <br />installadon, the propecty owner/applicant will be respoasible for and may be chazged for any necessary <br />adj„crm_PniS. <br />Afur the insrallation cf any water service by che City of Everett Utiliues Division, the property owner <br />shall be held responsible for, and may be ct�arged for, xny and all damages to the service lme, meter <br />secter, meter and mecer boxes/vaul� or any other appurteuan�es uatil complerion of construction and/or <br />the structure is agprov�d for occupancy. <br />A11 waser mains on private properry that are looped back to the publie right�f-way or aze open to the <br />general public sys�em ,;hall be installed in easemeats, granted to the ciry, and shall be maintained by the <br />city. (See Section 5-8.6 for maia looping requirements•) <br />The min;rrn,m wa[er ¢ain easement width shall be 15 feet in width and shall be ezclusive for the water <br />main and appurtenance>. <br />Due ro the cumplexities of many water mains and their interface with other undergmund suucnues, all <br />water main cons�ucdon shall be staked to insure placement a•ithin d'esignated easements.
