It is <br />recommended that an as-b iilt print be submitted for checldng by the ciry eqgineer prior to submitting the <br />originals. The water as-biiilt is to be submiaed within 14 days of the public water main becotning live. <br />The iastallarion of all watec mains and apputtenances shall be in accordance with the eonstrucrion plaas as <br />approved by the city eng'v�eer for the project. Any deviauon or ehanges aze to be approved by utilides <br />before tbe changes aze ina�rporated into the work. <br />All materials shall be new and undamaved. Unless othe.-wise approved by ihe engineer, che same <br />mamifacturcr of each item shall be used throsghout the work. Conuaccors shali fiunish a water tight plug <br />of the appropriate size which shall be installed in the end of the water main anyrime work is delayed or <br />stopped. <br />5-2 CONSTRUCTifON PLANS <br />A. Water plans [o be separate from others but should have water mains highlighted and iadica[e <br />locations o' other �itilides. <br />B. Plans must show �:asements wbere mains are on private property and all hydrants, meters, and <br />• other appurtenances must be within the easements which must be a minimum of 15 feet wide with <br />no other urilities within 5 feet of the a�ater main. <br />C. Easemenu must b_ executed at complerion of consnucdon and mains must be in the middie of <br />easemenc as muc'i as possible. Acerss to easements for maintenance must remain open. <br />Savctures, fences, and shrubs are not to be planted ou easemeaa. <br />D. Show elevaHons of' sewer maias, water ma�ns and srorm drains where they cross each other. <br />E. A mitum� of 10 feet horizonral cleuance shall be maintained between a water main, sewer <br />main and stotm driins whenever possible. • <br />F. All hydrancs when i�ralled must be'cwered by a burlap bag or other suitable covetmg unril <br />accepted by the ci�� and placed in service. <br />G. An AWWA appro�red back-flow prevendon 3evice is requirrd for all irrigation systems. <br />5-2.1 REQUIRED N��TES ON PLA,TiS <br />A. No co�ecdon to 'he existing mains will be allowed except by means of an approved backflow <br />preveniion device prior w satisfactory flushing, testing, disinfecdon, and receipt of satisfactory <br />bacteriological test results. <br />B. Taps on existing aains will be made by the ciry at the developer's expease. <br />C. All work and materials must conform to City of Everett Standatds. <br />D. The City of Everett Engineering Deparcment Construcuon Division must be notified at least 24 <br />hours pnor to commencing construcrion. <br />E. The owner or the uwner's authorized agent shall norify Udlities of a person who can be contacted <br />regazding problem� during consuuction on a 24 hour basis. <br />5-3 BACgFLO�'V I'REVENTION <br />To preveni conraminated cvater Crom the new main from entering the existing dis�'bution system, two <br />check valves or a double clieck valve assembly shall be used on tl�e line suyplying ffie waur. Two check <br />va�ves or a douhle check valve usembly is sufficient bac�kflow protection only for filling a� flushing of <br />che new main.
