I <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> . <br /> I <br /> Revise the last sentence in the sixteenth paragraph in 7-05.3 to read as follows: <br /> I Provide manholes, inlets, and catch basins that upon final acceptance of the Work <br /> conforms to the following COE Standard Drawings requirements: <br /> 1. Manholes No. 605A, 605B and 605C as applicable. <br /> 1 2. Inlets No. 401 <br /> 3. Catch Basins No. 402, 403 and 404 as applicable. <br /> 7-05.3(1) Adjusting Manholes and Catch Basins to Grade <br /> IIDelete both paragraphs of 7-05.3(1) and substitute the following: <br /> Adjust manholes, catch basins and other structures to final grade after completing <br /> I pavement operations. Carefully re-establish the center of each structure from <br /> Contractor's previously established references. <br /> Cut pavement in neat circle having a minimum diameter of 2-feet beyond the casting <br /> I cover. Remove pavement and base material, maintaining the neat circle, to permit <br /> casting and frame removal. Adjust casting and frame to proper grade. <br /> Place cast iron frame on concrete blocks or concrete adjusting rings and wedge up <br /> to the desired grade using plastic wedges. Wood or metal wedges are not allowed. <br /> The Backfill around finished casting frame to within 1-1/2 inches of finished <br /> pavement surface using commercial concrete. <br /> I <br /> After concrete has set a full 24-hours, paint the edges of the asphalt concrete <br /> pavement and the outer edge of the casting with hot asphalt cement. Place hot <br /> asphalt concrete to match finished pavement surface and compact with hand <br /> tampers and a patching roller. Asphalt concrete and cement concrete shall be <br /> considered incidental to the unit price of the structure being adjusted. <br /> I Match the new patch with existing paved surface for texture, density, and uniformity <br /> of grade. Carefully paint the joint between the patch and the existing pavement shall <br /> then be carefully painted with hot asphalt cement or asphalt emulsion and <br /> immediately cover with dry paving sand before the asphalt cement solidifies. <br /> IThoroughly mortar and plaster the inside throat of the structure. <br /> 7-05.3(3) Connections to Existing Manholes <br /> I Delete all three paragraphs of 7-05.3(3) and substitute the following: <br /> Verify existing manhole rim and invert elevations prior to construction. Provide <br /> verification documentation by means of a Submittal to the Engineer for approval. <br /> I Submittal shall be in accordance with 1-05.3 of these Special Provisions. <br /> Immediately bring discrepancies in invert elevations to the attention of the Engineer. <br /> Unless specified otherwise. match the new connection pipe crown elevation to the <br /> l <br /> existing pipe or pipe crown elevation.
