From training a skilled workforce to <br /> maintaining the infrastructure needed to promote efficient supply chain management,Holland& <br /> Knight has been at the forefront of promoting federal policy in these crucial areas. <br /> Team member David Whitestone chairs Holland&Knight's Government Section,one of just four <br /> sections in the whole firm,and launched our Transportation Industry Group. He has extensive <br /> contacts with the aerospace industry,including senior officials at Boeing. <br /> Using Mr.Whitestone's network,we could help Everett develop strategies on a number of issues <br /> that could help support and sustain the aerospace manufacturing and supplier network in Everett <br /> and Snohomish County. This could include supporting advocacy efforts around infrastructure <br /> projects of importance to the manufacturing and supplier network,including rail and port <br /> infrastructure,in the next transportation reauthorization or potential infrastructure package. <br /> Further,given how critical trade issues are for the aerospace manufacturing and supplier industry, <br /> Holland&Knight could work to educate the Washington State delegation about the impact of <br /> President Trump's tariff plan. We could also identify additional opportunities both through major <br /> authorizations and appropriations bills to help bolster this critical industry's presence in Everett. <br /> In addition,when Mayor Franklin is in Washington,D.C.or in Everett,we could host roundtables <br /> with key aerospace manufacturing and supplier companies. These events can promote a better <br /> understanding about their priorities,which could be supported through mayoral coalitions.We <br /> could also explore creating a taskforce through the U.S.Conference of Mayors focused on the <br /> aerospace industry and highlight the City's initiatives to sustain it. <br /> 5.Help plan,formulate,and implement the City's federal agenda on fiscal,regulatory and <br /> legislative issues,including but not limited to affordable housing and homelessness,drug <br /> addiction,mental illness,transportation,water,sustainability,education,technology, <br /> immigration,public safety and criminal justice,cannabis,emergency response and <br /> workforce development. <br /> As an extension of your team,Holland&Knight would work closely with you to develop a strategic, <br /> holistic plan of action to advance each specific project and policy priority to achieve measureable <br /> results.
