Sheet A3.1 shows a new interior stairway at the northwest corner of the building. A section <br /> shall be provided showing the required construction of the stairs and the railing. See IBC <br /> Sections 107.2.1 and 1014. <br /> MODS response: See Detail 1 and Elevations E and F Sheet A 6.4. <br /> 5. Door Type A on Sheet A1.1 is a new door. The following comments shall be addressed: <br /> a. The door includes a glass light. The glass shall be safety glazing per IBC Section 2406.4.1. <br /> b. The door type shall specify a maximum insulated rating of U=0.3 per WSEC-15 Table <br /> C402.4. <br /> MODS response: See Door Types on Sheet A 1.1. A note has been added to Door Type A <br /> indicating tempered glass. Also, this door has less than 50%surface area of glass and by <br /> WSEC-15 definition is considered an opaque door. Per WSEC-15 Table C402.1.4, the maximum <br /> U factor for an opaque swinging door is 0.3Z This has been indicated with a new note. <br /> 6. Note D1/A2.1 states to install a new window per the window schedule. The construction <br /> drawings do not appear to include a window schedule. The required window should be <br /> specified. The schedule shall specify a maximum insulated rating of U=0.3 per WSEC-15 Table <br /> C402.4. <br /> MODS response: See Door Types on Sheet A 1.1. <br /> 7. Sheets A2.1 requires modifications to the exterior north and south walls around the doors. The <br /> walls shall specify insulation with a minimum insulated rating of R=21. See IEBC Section <br /> 811.1, and WSEC-15 Section C503 and Table C402.1.3. <br /> MODS response: There will be no modifications to the walls to the north and south of the <br /> existing openings. <br /> Structural <br /> 1. Sheet A3.1 includes a new raised floor in the northeast corner of the building. The <br /> construction appears to be a sleeper floor using 2x12 joists that will bear direction on the <br /> existing floor system. The joists should be provided with end restraints and intermediate <br /> blocking as needed for stability. Details should be provided in the construction drawings.
