YOU MUST PROVIDE THIS <br /> INFORMATION WITH INVOICE BEFORE PAYMENT WILL BE ISSUED. <br /> ECONOMIC IMPACT <br /> Because the City of Everett operates the Hotel-Motel fund as an economic development tool,one of the key evaluation criteria for selecting a project <br /> for funding is its potential economic benefit. In addition,the City Is required to report to the State on the numbers of visitors and the numbers of <br /> overnight stays generated by each project. <br /> Please indicate the anticipated economic impact of your project and provide the estimated <br /> number of participants in each of the following categories; <br /> • staying in overnight paid accommodations, e <br /> • traveling over 50 miles and staying overnight in unpaid accommodations(with friends or family), <br /> • traveling over 50 miles and staying for the day only, attending but not included in one of the <br /> above categories - <br /> • Total of all participants(sum of the first four categories). <br /> Quantify your projections and indicate how you propose to verify your results (for <br /> example, by head count or surveys). You will be required to provide post-event <br /> information for these same categories prior to reimbursement. <br /> Remember,food and fuel purchases assist the local economy but do not contribute to the Hotel-Motel fund;the fund derives entirely from taxes on <br /> overnight lodging in the county. If your project will not result directly in overnight stays,try to demonstrate how its success may contribute to <br /> generating future overnight stays. An example might be a one-day festival you sponsor which,when combined with—and jointly marketed with—an <br /> event the following day which appealed to the same audience,would encourage visitors to spend the night and attend both events. In this example,it <br /> would be important to discuss the timeframe and strategy for future implementation of an appropriate cooperative marketing campaign to link your <br /> one-day festival with the second one.Again,quantify your projections and explain the methodology by which you developed them.' <br /> The Upper Left Beerfest expects attendance to continue to grow,as it has the past two years,since Fizz Events and the DEA took over the event <br /> from the Washington Beer Commission.Attendance numbers have historically been between 2,000-2,500 attendees.Out of those 2,500 <br /> estimated attendees,it is expected that somewhere near 10%of attendees will stay(Over 200 attendees stayed in Everett overnight in 2017,271 <br /> stayed in 2018(136 paid). <br /> To help ensure we continue to have attendees that stay the night(including brewers),the Upper Left Beerfest will again be a two-day festival <br /> (Friday 4pm—9pm,Saturday 12pm—8pm).During the two day festival,we offer attendees multiple ticket options at time of purchase(online) <br /> including a popular 2 day discounted ticket,thus encouraging attendees to stay the night and return the following day.Single day tickets are <br /> offered as well at a higher price point than purchasing both tickets together. <br /> Estimated Ticket Sales(These numbers are based on historical sales data from 17'&18') <br /> Staying in overnight paid accommodations—175(based on and increase from 2018) <br /> Traveling from over 50 but staying with friends—190 <br /> Traveling from over 50 for the day—200 <br /> Total Attendees:2,500 <br /> We are able to track this data from our online ticket sales system.When purchasing tickets,we ask attendees these questions: <br /> -Do you plan to stay in an Everett Hotel During your visit to the beer festival(Y/N) <br /> -Do you plan to stay with friends/family while attending the beer festival(Y/N) <br /> -Address w/zipcode(to track out of town guest zipcodes,states and countries traveling from) <br /> The DEA and Fizz Events,LLC will promote area hotels to potential event attendees as well as restaurants and"things to do in Everett"on the <br /> event website,social media and an the ticket confirmation email all attendees receive after purchase,listing important information.We will also <br /> contact area hotels to work with them on room night blocks,possible discounted hotel room nights,etc. <br /> 47- 5 <br />
