Designation Justification. <br /> (1.) While departmental timelines required locally to issue 777X related <br /> development permits have been shortened in both Snohomish County <br /> and the City of Everett, designations as Project of Statewide Significance <br /> would insure that state agencies and resources would work in tandem <br /> with local regulators to expedite development permits on these sites, <br /> thereby increasing the ability of Washington State to compete in <br /> attracting manufacture of the 777X and growing the Aerospace Sector <br /> statewide. <br /> (2.) Aerospace development on either of these two project sites will be of <br /> the size and complexity to result in significant growth of related <br /> aerospace jobs across the entire state of Washington, and in the <br /> process, make Washington State more effective in competing for future <br /> aerospace growth opportunities. This project justification clearly meets <br /> the designation qualification criteria of "Impact on Region Due to Size <br /> and Complexity" as defined by RCW 43.157.030, and as required for <br /> Director of Commerce to designate projects as being a Project of <br /> Statewide Significance. <br /> In accordance with Snohomish County Council Resolution Number 13-013 and <br /> Everett City Council Resolution Number 6636, as documented in attached Joint <br /> Resolution Supporting Designation of Paine Field 777X Facilities as a Project of <br /> Statewide Significance dated July 10, 2013, Snohomish County Executive and City <br /> of Everett Mayor respectfully submit this Joint Application for Washington <br /> Department of Commerce to designate the Paine field Aerospace Business Park <br /> project and the 777X SEPA Addendum project each as a Project of Statewide <br /> Significance. <br /> SNOHOMISH COUNTY CITY OF EVERETT <br /> • n Lovick Ray Stephenson <br /> Executive Mayor <br /> October 25' , 2013 October , 2013 <br />
