Exhibit B
October 30, 2013
Brian Bonlender, Director
Department of Commerce
1011 Plum Street SE
P.O. Box 45245
Olympia, WA 98504-2525
Re: Snohomish County and City of Everett Joint Application for Designations
as Projects of Statewide Significance
Dear Mr. Bonlender:
As the legislative body for the City of Everett project, the Everett City Council
strongly supports the referenced Joint Application that requests Project of
Statewide Significance for both the Paine Field Aerospace Business Park project
and the 777X SEPA Addendum project on Boeing-Everett campus.
Each of these two projects is designed to accommodate development
requirements to support large aerospace manufacturing that would potentially
result in creation of substantial aerospace jobs across the entire state of
Washington. In fact, the projects have been created specifically, at the
Governor's request, to make Washington more competitive in growing aerospace
statewide.
Both project sites offer unique and immediate private road driving access to the
Boeing-Everett manufacturing campus. In addition to having uniquely located
sites available to meet large aerospace manufacturing needs, it is also critical that
those sites offer predictable and timely development permits.
