Without knowing more information, it'll be difficult to figure how many
commercial kitchen tenants will be occupying this area and sharing the existing grease interceptor at one time, if
they are at all. Since further assessment/information is needed from the applicant, I've also copied the
applicant to this email with her email so that she can coordinate with you and submit any drawings or details
you require.
Feel free to email or call me with questions.
Thank you,
James Bronder, PE
City of Everett Public Works Department I Associate Engr. I could not inspect it
closely today but its condition should be evaluated. That said, even if in decent shape it would likely not suffice
to serve additional/expanded needs. The person I spoke to said they were moving the operation to a site near
128th St SW (12811 8th Ave W).Alderwood WSD requirements were delaying their planned move date, so she
wasn't sure when it will happen. So, could the new equipment be for the new/relocated space or is this for a
new tenant?
She also believed there were plans for two new building tenants, one a small bakery/cupcake shop and the
other likely an Indian restaurant. She thought they were going into the SW and NE corner spaces of the building
(i.e. not in their existing space). So it's unclear to me exactly what's on tap, but if the planned TI(s) is/are
somewhere other than the existing corner/kitchen space, new owners/management will be required to install a
grease removal system to serve the appropriate fixtures in their kitchen. Our ordinance specifies they submit
kitchen fixture layout and drainage waste plans along with sizing details for a GRS for eval/approval.
However, if a new tenant is going into the space with the existing kitchen, we would then evaluate their plans
for using/changing the space including the suitability of existing 'trap-style' interceptor to serve their needs.
Sorry that's not a more clear cut answer but some more info will be needed.
Charles
X8224
z/
