Interwest Construction Co.—Railway Avenue Improvements,Riverpoint,Everett,WA November 7,2018
Proposal for Geotechnical Services T908-18
We anticipate that our services will include field explorations, geologic and geotechnical
research,and the preparation of a geotechnical design report.
Field Coordination: We will call utility locating prior to drilling. If needed,we can also request a
private locating company to verify that the planned borehole locations are free of underground
utilities prior to drilling, at additional cost. Upon arrival at the site, we assume that the
equipment and crew will be given ready access to the work locations and that any necessary
permits or rights-of-entry will have been obtained in advance by the client. During our field
explorations,we will limit disruption of ongoing activities at the site.
Site Restoration: We will exercise due care while working at the site, but it should be realized
that some surface disturbance is unavoidable. Such disturbance could include track rutting,soil
mounds,bare spots, slight subsidence, and/or soft areas. Although we perform general clean-
up and restoration tasks before leaving the site, complete restoration of these disturbed areas
and/or repaving is not included in our scope of services. Spoils from our borings will be left on
site in the vicinity of each drilling location. If needed,we can request the drilling contractor to
drum and/or remove spoils from the site at additional cost.
GEOTECHNICAL REPORT PREPARATION
After analyzing the site conditions, we will prepare a Geotechnical Design Report for the project.
Our report will include the following specific items:
• Site plan showing approximate exploration locations on a base map supplied to us;
• Descriptive logs of our subsurface explorations;
• Description of surface,soil,groundwater,and seismic conditions;
• Conclusions regarding excavation, support, and installation of the planned water
and storm sewer lines including design recommendations for shallow or mat
foundations,as appropriate;
• Recommendations for actions in areas of unsuitable soils,if any;
• Conclusions regarding the reuse of onsite soils and import soils for structural fill;
• Conclusions regarding onsite liquefaction potential;
• Recommended seismic design parameters,including I.B.C.soil profile type;
• Recommendations for site preparation, including stripping depth, compaction, and
structural fill placement;
• Design pavement sections in accordance with City of Everett requirements;
• Recommendations for construction monitoring;
• Explanation of report limitations;and
• Recommendations for further geotechnical study,if warranted.
AMigizi Group,Inc. 1"age-?ref•4  y
