k Penske Truck Leasing-Proposed Service Facility-2410 Railway Avenue,Everett WA November 7,2018 Proposal for Geotechnical Services T901-18 SCOPE OF SERVICES In order to provide geotedlnical recommendations for the project, we will need to determine subsurface soil and groundwater conditions at depth. Accordingly,we will hire Holt Services Inc.to drill one boring to 25 feet below the proposed fuel island,three borings to 15 feet under the proposed service bays and office area, and seven additionalborings to 10 feet in various proposed pavement areas for a total drilling footage of 140 feet, as indicated on the Penske scope of services. Auger borings will be conducted under contract to MGI. MGI will provide geotechnical personnel and laboratory services for this project based out of our office in Tacoma, Washington. We anticipate that our services will include field explorations, geologic and geotechnical research,and the preparation of a geotechnical design report. Field Coordination: We understand that Sifts at Hill can locate the borings during predrilling survey operations. If needed,we can also request a private locating company to verify that the planned borehole locations are free of underground utilities prior to drilling,at additional cost. Upon arrival at the site,we assume that the equipment and crew will be given ready access to the work locations and that any necessary permits or rights-of-entry will have been obtained in advance by the dient. During our field explorations, we will limit disruption of ongoing activities at the site. Site Restoration: We will exercise due care while working at the site,but it should be realized that some surface disturbance is unavoidable. Such disturbance could include track rutting,soil mounds,bare spots,slight subsidence,and/or soft areas. Although we perform general clean- up and restoration tasks before leaving the site,complete restoration of these disturbed areas and/or repaving is not included in our scope of services. Spoils from our borings will be left on site in the vicinity of each soil boring with it being our understanding that Penske has the capabilities to dispose of the soil cuttings. If needed,we can request the drilling contractor to drum and/or remove spoils from the site at additional cost. GEOTECHNICAL REPORT PREPARATION After analyzing the site conditions,we will prepare a Geotechnical Design Report for the project.
