Asphalt concrete and cement concrete shall be <br /> considered incidental to the unit price of the structure being adjusted. <br /> Match the new patch with existing paved surface for texture, density, and <br /> uniformity of grade. Carefully paint the joint between the patch and the existing <br /> pavement shall then be carefully painted with hot asphalt cement or asphalt <br /> emulsion and immediately cover with dry paving sand before the asphalt cement <br /> solidifies. <br /> Thoroughly mortar and plaster the inside throat of the structure. 1 <br /> Delete Section 7-05.3(2) and substitute the following: <br /> 7-05.3(2) Abandon Existing Structures <br /> Where it is required that an existing structure be abandoned, the Structure shall be <br /> broken down to a depth of at least 4 feet below the revised surface elevation, all <br /> connections plugged in accordance with 7-08.3(4) of these Special Provisions, and the <br /> structure filled with gravel borrow or CDF, as directed. Compact backfill to a minimum <br /> of 95 percent maximum density in accordance with 2-03.3(14)D. The ring and cover <br /> shall be salvaged and all other surplus material disposed of. I <br /> Delete Section 7-05.3(3) and substitute the following: <br /> 7-05.3(3) Connections to Existing Structures <br /> Verify existing structure rim and invert elevations prior to construction. Provide <br /> verification documentation by means of a Submittal to the Engineer for approval. <br /> Submittal shall be in accordance with 1-05.3 of these Special Provisions. <br /> Immediately bring discrepancies in invert elevations to the attention of the <br /> Engineer. <br /> Unless specified otherwise, match the new connection pipe crown elevation to the I <br /> existing pipe or pipe crown elevation. <br /> Use safe and effective construction methods to prevent existing structures from <br /> moving or tipping during excavation to make new connection. <br /> Keep sewer manholes in operation at all times and take necessary precautions to <br /> prevent debris or other material from entering the sewer, including a tight pipeline <br /> bypass through the existing channel, if required. I <br /> Core drill for pipe connections less than 28-inch O.D. Jackhammer or rotary <br /> hammer shall not be used. <br /> Place pipes entering or leaving the structure on firmly compacted bedding. Take I <br /> particular care in compacting bedding within the area of the structure excavation <br /> that is normally deeper than the pipe trench. Take special care to ensure the <br /> annual opening around each pipe entering the structure is completely and firmly <br /> rammed full of non-shrink grout to ensure water tightness. Non-shrink grout shall <br /> conform to requirements of 9-03.20.3(2) of the Standard Specifications. <br /> Supplement 7-05.3 by adding the following: <br /> 7-05.3(5) Furnish and Install Solid Cover for Catch Basins <br /> (******) <br /> Provide new solid covers on existing catch basins where shown on the Plans. <br /> Provide solid covers conforming to 9-05.15 of the Standard Specifications, 9- <br /> 05.15(1) of these Special Provisions, and to COE Standard Drawing No. 410 for <br /> Alverson Stormwater Separation February, 2019 <br /> WO No. -UP3660 Division 7—STORM, SEWER,WATER <br /> SP-156 I <br />
